Maplefrost was frozen, staring through the trees to the lake where the beast resided. The stars, aggressive and unforgiving, scowled down at her, and she knew something was wrong. The air was still, the silence sinister. The shadows seemed to encase her body, confining her to the ground. Her Clanmates lay dead because of this beast. It ruthlessly murdered them all, ripping them limb from limb as they innocently patrolled the borders. Sorrowfully, Maplefrost could still hear their terrified shrieks filling the air.
