Marissa Mayer became the CEO of Yahoo due to the fact that she took charge of the company and dramatically increase the company’s worth. She did this by focusing on four key areas which are mobile, social media, native advertisements, and videos. The first step in Marissa Mayer’s plan was to look that the company as a whole, hence she had to evolve the companies entire focus. The focus was evolved by changing the vision and mission statement of Yahoo. At the time the company had 12,000 employees and Mayer change the company policy so that all the employees came into the office located in Sunnyvale, California because she believed that it would be more efficient for overall company improvement.
