This conflict is external for sure, it starts back in the first book in the series Cinder where a insignificant cyborg girl soon becomes a fugitive and the love interest of emperor Kaito. This is after she discovers that she has rightful claim over the despised lunar queens throne, queen Levana. Fortunately Cinder finds many friends to help her along the way such as scarlet, and a genetically enhanced human called wolf who soon falls in love with Scarlet. Later on, readers are introduced to a royal lunar hacker named cress who was trapped in a satellite for most of her life as well as the confident Carswell Thorne who both have budding feelings for
