General Electric Company (GE), is a diversified infrastructure and financial services company. The products and services of the Company range from aircraft engines, power generation, oil and gas production equipment, and household appliances to medical imaging, business and consumer financing and industrial products.

Through research Ge brands are labeled as quality equipment by consumers. Its current customers have labeled Ge brands with words like “creative” “innovative” “inspiring” and “inventive”. The GE brand products that are bought by consumers have prices that are comparable to the products of competitor companies. One competitor of the company is SIEMENS

Product Objective

One product from GE in the Medical care industry is the Senographe Care machine created by GE. This machine creates well defined and clear images for mammographic findings. This machine also is customizable to each person and allows the user to set their preference on how images are displayed as well as allowing work to be completed quickly. Allowing for greater comfort for the patient while the technologist is conducting the imaging. The Senographe Care machine also has a proven track record of having consistent imagery with low levels of degradation of the images. Also 80% of the machines placed into service in 1999 are still being used as of 2010 which shows a long life span and quality of the machines.

Price Objective

The cost of the Senographe Care machine is $115,000-$200,000. One way to possibly discount the pricing of the machines is to sell them at a discounted price if they are bought in bulk. Another way is to sell refurbished machines at a lower cost than the new ones which would allow customers who need the machines to purchase one at a lower cost than machines that are brand new.
