Masculinity In Kimmel's Bros Before Ho

I think that the authors motivation for writing “Bros before Ho’s” is, to explain to us what it means to be a man & why certain people may not understand the things that men do. Also, to show the audience what masculinity means and what it doesn’t mean in the eyes of a male. Kimmel wants the audience to see how the good guys are silenced and the perpertrators and bullies are encouraged, and how we need to reverse that for a greater good. What the author is wanting us to think after we read the text is to understand why masculinity is so important to men. The author wants the audience to realize that men are highly influenced by other males, fathers, etc. Kimmel wants the audience to know that every manarism, movement that men make contains a certain coded gender language. Wealth, power, status, strength and physicality is derived for constant proof that a male isn’t seen as ‘unmanly.’ Kimmel wants us to know that a mans masculinity is always needed to be proved.

Therefore, I’ve been around men who are full of themselves, that never show emotions or weaknesses. Kimmel mentions how men are only focused on the physical attributes. That appears to be true. I have plenty of guy friends and whenever they see an attractive female all they talk about is how hot certain body parts are. They never talk about a girl’s personality, etc. I was cheated on by my ex boyfriend multiple times and all his friends, who I thought were my friends as well, never told me about him being unfaithful.
