Me being a person that believes in watching my weight and trying to live a healthy life. It is very important that we read the labels on the food packages and count the calories that we get in everyday. This is important because it can reduce your chances of not getting several different things for an example: diabetes, cancer, and high blood pressure. Below are three foods that have been chosen to explain the fat and protein count in them.
Example 1 Hamburger Helper
To find the fat in this particular food you must first look at the label on the box and see how many grams of fat are in it and then multiply the given by 9 and it will give the calories:
1g fat x 9= 9 calories.
Next step would be take the fat and divide it by the calories and then multiply that by 100% to get the calories in fat:
9Calories x 100%= 6.92%
130

...Explanation: I conducted a random simulation with the information provided based on 52 base week calendar. Author B. Taylor stated “simulation can be applied to a number of problems that are too difficult to model and solve analytically” (Taylor, 2009). In this case the results were based on the use of one copy machine, intervals of breakdown, requiring 1-4 days for repair at a loss, at \$0.10 cents a copy. Day 1: 20%, Day 2: 45%, Day 3: 25%, Day 4: 10% a total probability of 100%. The point of this case study is to simulate the break-down and repair process for one year to obtain an average annual loss of revenue. In addition the amount of time between breakdowns increases the probability of needing more costly repairs. Should the anticipated lost revenue exceeds \$12,000.00 annually a backup copier will be purchased. We must keep in mind the most important factors of customer satisfaction and convenience, which is what, prompted the owners of JET to start their business in the first place. The first part of creating the probability of breakdowns relied upon information supplied by Jet Copies and their estimated probability of distribution. The nearby college staff had prior knowledge of the service provider’s timelines for repair because they had the same copier in the campus office. JET used their own estimated repair time to recreate a random repair time probability table using a range of days. As a result the average repair time was 3 days at a cost of \$691...

#### Mat 221 Week 5 Assignment

...Assignment 5 1 Assignment 5 DeJuan Stanley MAT 221 Prof Timothy Kilgore June 2, 2014 MAT 221 Week 5 Assignment Buried treasure. Ahmed has half of a treasure map, which indicates that the treasure is buried in the desert 2x + 6 paces from Castle Rock. Vanessa has the other half of the map. Her half indicates that to find the treasure, one must get to Castle Rock, walk x paces to the north, and then walk 2x + 4 paces to the east. If they share their information then they can find x and save a lot of digging. What is x? The key to solving this equation is to use the Pythagorean Theorem which has a right angle in the equation with a & b equaling side c. Based on the example we know that we will have to use the formula A^2 + B^2 = C^2. What we know is that Ahmed’s half of the map is 2x + 6 = treasure, which would be how far he would need to walk, (A^2). Vanessa’s map needs to show her how to get to the North of Castle Rock, which is 2x + 4, (C^2). We are trying to solve for X (side B). Vanessa is forming a 90 degree angle from point B and walk (2x + 4) until she made it to C. The formula we would use to solve for X is the following: (2x + 6)^2 = x^2 + (2x + 4)^2 4x^2 + 24x + 36 = x^2 +4x^2 + 16x + 16 The next step would be to combine like terms, multiplying, adding, and subtracting. 24x + 36 = x^2 + 16x + 16 -24x -24x 36 = x^2 – 8x + 16 -36 -36 Now we have a...

...MAT 540 week 8 Assignment 1 LP Case study MAT 540 Assignment 1 week 8 The Rayhoon Restaurant: Brayden and Behrad were roommates. They decided to open a restaurant in the small town that they were living. They bought an old home for their new restaurant which they named Rayhoon. Not knowing the taste of their customers, they decided to serve only two full course meals each night, one with pork and the other with chicken.  They estimated that they would sell a maximum of 60 meals each night. Each chicken dinner requires 15 minutes to prepare, and each pork dinner takes twice as long. There is a total of 20 hours of kitchen staff labor available each day. They thought that they would sell at least 3 chicken dinners for every two pork dinners. They also believe that at least 10 percent of their customers will order pork dinners. The profit from each chicken dinner will be \$12, and the profit from a pork dinner will be \$16. Formulate a linear programming model for B & B, that will help them estimate the number of meals they should prepare each night and solve this model by computer. A. They are considering investing in some advertising to increase the maximum number of meals they serve. They estimate that if they spend \$30 per day on a newspaper ad, it will increase the maximum number of meals they serve per day from 60 to 70. Should they make the investment? B. They are concerned about the reliability of their kitchen staff. They estimate that on some evenings...

Complete the following steps for this discussion: 1. List the ages of two people in your life, one older than you and one younger than you. It would be best if the younger person was 15 years of age or younger. 2. Find the prime factorizations of your age and the other two persons’ ages. Show your work listed by name and age. Make sure your work is clear and concise. 3. Find the LCM and the GCF for each set of numbers. Again, be clear and concise. Explain or show how you arrived at your answers. 4. In your own words, explain the meaning of your calculated LCM and GCF for the ages you selected. Do not explain how you got the numbers; rather explain the...
