MATERIALS
1. 15 tomato plants (“Celebrity” brand)
2. Potting soil free of any fertilizer (2500 grams)
3. 15 pots with holes in the bottom.
We will plant 3 groups: control, chemical fertilizer, cow dung (organic) with 5 plants in each group.
4. 1 watering can
5. Plenty of direct sunlight
6. Cow dung to mix with the potting soil of five of the plants
7. Chemical fertilizer (“Miracle Gro”) to mix with the soil of five of the plants
8. Journal to record our measurements
9. Camera to take pictures of the plant

Step 1: Plant tomato plants in 15 different pots filled with same amount of potting soil (450g).
Step 2: Label each pot: Control, Chemical fertilizer & Cow dung (organic). There will be 3 groups of five.
Step 3: Add chemical fertilizer to 5 plants; cow dung to another 5 plants and leave one group of 5 alone.
Step 4: Water plants with 60cc of water.
Step 5: Place in a sunny area.
Step 6: On Day 1, measure the height of each plant and record it. Do the same thing every day. Stop at Day 15. There will be 15 plants with measurements every day (5 plants in 3 groups).
Step 7: At Day 15, see if the plants have tomatoes and compare taste. If no tomatoes have grown, buy tomatoes. Buy tomatoes grown in soil fertilizer-free, organic tomatoes grown in cow dung and tomatoes grown in chemical fertilizer.
Step 8: Place 10-15 small tomatoes in different colored bowls and label them on the bottom so no one knows which they are tasting. Survey people to see which they think tastes better. Tally results.
