If I was hired as a program assistant for JoCo to help the business to provide better customer service, improve their website marketing, and help provide on time delivery of its products to the customers in timely manner I would incorporate many changes. First I would use programming concepts to overhaul the websites, inventory and customer satisfaction. Next I would use design concepts to create a business info structure to help improve the ordering and shipping process. After that I would describe the programming principles I used to better the business. Finally I would describe the ethics used to help the business. First I would create a server to manage the websites on. Then I would create local intranet and extranet and divide the functions of the websites into different groups that manage a specific function to better improve sales, shipping, and payment processing, and ordering. I would get a multiple license to uses various computer with the software need for each specific function. I would create a section that use extranet to manage inventory and update the website when things come in for the vendors and when things are out of stock. After that the orders would then be sent over the intranet to the next section of business which would be payment processing. Once the payment has been processed and approved the information will then be sent to shipping department to be shipped out to the customer and tracked by that part of the department to ensure the package has arrived at it destination. The ordering department would use a Java base program to ensure that the inventory is in stock and being updated when it’s out of stock. The payment department would use spreadsheet with sum capabilities to ensure that each it is being sold at the right price and that all of the items sold are properly totaled at the end of the day. Finally the ordering department would
