In the book Maximum Ride, by James Patterson, Max and her flock are on the the run and trying to not get captured by the so called “school”. They are a group of scientists that are secretly mutating humans to have different abilities. Unfortunately though, Angel on of the youngest in the flock gets caught and brought to the school forcing all of them to go and try to get her out. They also plan to find their parents and to destroy the “school” so no other kids have to endure it. In the end Max and her flock are finally able to destroy the school and find out all the rest of the flocks parents but hers. Leaving her not knowing what the future holds ahead of her and her friends.
