Introduction

In 2013, the global economy grew at its fastest pace in nearly three years, signaling steady yet unglamorous expansion of approximately 3% annualized. During the early parts of 2014 the economy has been stagnate. Although since the Federal Open Market Committee meeting in March 2014 economic indicators are indicating growth in economic activity. The growth was stunted in the early part of 2014 mainly due to adverse weather conditions during the winter months. This trend is reflected in the initial estimates of real GDP growth for the 1st quarter of 2014 which slightly increased by an annual rate of .1 percent compared to the 4th quarter of 2013. The growth rate shown in 2014 is compared to a 2.4 percent growth rate realized in 4th quarter of 2013. The deceleration in real GDP growth during the first quarter of 2014 is a direct result of negative contribution from exports, private inventory investments, and state and local government spending. This trend in GDP is a direct result of the federal fiscal policy established for 2014. Long term interest rates during the years after the financial crisis were intentionally maintained at very low levels. These low levels of long term interest rates enabled the economy to bounce back and experience moderate growth. During 2013, we saw interest rates begin to increase with further increases expected in the coming years. The current levels of the money supply in the United States as of March 2014 are at all-time highs. The M2 in the United States has gradually been increasing since January 2013. US stock market experienced a solid year in 2013, led by continued monetary support as a result of polices put in place by the Federal Reserve, in addition to gains in revenues and earnings for numerous US corporations. During the first quarter of 2014 the main indexes recorded meek gains with the only index

...RESUMES WHAT IS A RESUME? A resume is a custom designed, written summary of your background. It provides a thumbnail sketch of your education, experience, and qualifications to a prospective employer. An effective resume targets a specific type of position and relates your skills and experience to that position. WHO WRITES A RESUME? A resume is written by anyone seeking employment, both part-time and full-time. Although there are companies that provide resume-writing services, the most effective resumes are written by the job seeker--after all, who else knows you, your qualifications, and your experiences better--someone you just met, or you? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A RESUME? A good resume (in combination with a cover letter) will provide you with an interview. The employer will select applicants on the basis of how well their skills match up with the job requirements. Sometimes, the difference between getting an interview and being placed in the “no” pile is a well put-together resume. GENERAL RESUME GUIDELINES: Length: • A one-page resume works for the recent graduate. If you have extensive work history, two pages are reasonable. Remember to limit pertinent to what is important to the current job objective. Appearance: • Developing a well organized, readable layout determines if it gets read! Direct the reader’s eyes to the format. • Avoid dense text appearance, which is difficult to read. • Use high-quality white or off-white paper--stay conservative...

A project manager whose primary responsibility is to achieve project objectives deals these individuals. Since the rational and emotional aspects of a project vary in complexity, the role of the project manager is critical to project success. The objective of this study was to demonstrate linkages between emotional intelligence and the challenges faced by virtual project managers. The study will also show that there exists a multi tier relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and challenges/elements of VPM. 1. INTRODUCTION Emotional Intelligence has its roots in the concept of "social intelligence", as first identified by E.L. Thorndike as early as in the early 1920s. The term Emotional Intelligence first appeared in a series of academic articles authored by John D. Mayer and Peter Salovey [1]. Goleman defined Emotional intelligence as a person’s self-awareness, self-confidence, selfcontrol, commitment and integrity, and a person’s ability to communicate, influence, initiate change and accept change [2,3].
