MBA Education System – far way to go
Just few days back one of our professor asked us to prepare a presentation on B2B marketing based on any published academic research paper. This was surprising for us YES really because till now we have been used to do our study and presentation on practical and real scenarios or any hypothetical situations. But in this case we have been asked to follow somebody else’s research and support it which sounds very theoretical and useless to many of us. Is this correct?
To answer the above question lets first understand what the research paper is? Research paper is outcome of a research done to present an interpretation, evaluation or argument on any subject based on the collected facts and logical assumption. These research papers are the basis of many important decisions taken in each field let it be corporate or government and ofcourse us.
Yes I can understand that doing research is a time consuming activity and considered not very exciting by students or teachers. The main focus is on providing bookish knowledge which is based on past experiences which if we analyze closely are becoming outdated when compared to today’s fast changing world. No one is interested to study the current situation everyone wants a short solution to every question. We cannot blame only students for the deteriorating culture in B schools, teachers are equally responsible.
In B schools where everything is driven by logic, it is very necessary to promote the culture of research. We have to works with facts and figure where logic cannot be built by mere conviction, it must be supported by proper research work. The best way to rejuvenate the research aptitude in students is through a better academic curriculum. But it can only make them to indulge in such educational mode unwillingly. It should be made interesting which is only possible through building enthusiasm towards interest. Teachers should engage themselves with students and help them in their researches and if these papers are published it gives further impetus to the research aptitude. B School competition can also play an important role to promote such aptitude in students across B school. It’s not just the importance of research which can drive the students into such activity but surely the interest can do.

Statement of Purpose

...Purpose - MBA 1.  Studying for an MBA requires a certain determination and strength of character. In recent years, the business world has become rapidly integrated across once restricting borders, and anyone with high goals in the business world must have an international perspective and be aware of the realities of different international arenas. I am unique, and uniquely fortunate, to have a diverse background both academically and professionally which has exposed me to different continents, peoples, cultures, and languages. As a native of Asia, I am familiar with the increasingly important markets of this region, and as such I am thoroughly prepared for the demands and challenges presented by undertaking study in the MBA program at your institution.   From a young age, I set goals beyond those of my peers. I decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in International Hotel Management, but in recognition of the limitation of programs in this field in my native country, I decided to pursue my undergraduate degree in Europe. The international hotel management course I joined was run by Goodwell University in the UK, and due to the experience of the instructors and the overall sophistication of the program, I received an incredibly valuable learning experience, beyond that which I could have received elsewhere. My undergraduate coursework at Goodwell University focused on management marketing, accounting, and various aspects of tourism. I received broad business-based education while...

The question that he answers in this essay is: What are your short-term and long-term career aspirations? How will an MBA education further your development? Why does the academic experience offered at the Stanford GSB appeal to you? (Unlimited length) I work at the Information Technology industry since 1993, when I was recruited to the classified electronic surveillance unit of Israel Defense Force (IDF). Since I've advanced to management positions in a very early stage of my professional career (at the age of 19 I've already finished the IDF Technical Officers course and was positioned as a Team Leader commanding 8-10 network professionals and computer technicians), it was a natural step to continue my career on management positions in the industry after my release from the active duty at 1997. I started my civilian career as an Information Systems Manager at Mobile Solutions Ltd., a dynamic Ireland-based start-up company developing various hardware devices for mobile satellite antenna’s technology. During my military service I've come to realization that in order to...

...higher education to all Lebanese.  Its mission is to foster personal and professional excellence and the development of leadership as expressed in service to others for the common benefit of humanity. In 2009, Hariri Canadian University (HCU) started its MBA program in 2009, with only 7 students enrolled in class. It offered MBA education with one emphasis which is General Management. Although HCU’s MBA merely has a history of 3 years, it has already gained a good reputation. Today in 2012, the registration rates show an increase as the number of students reached 26. MBA applicants are increasing slowly. Two fundamental reasons contribute to this increase. On one hand, MBA is needed in the workplace. More students are choosing MBA due to pressures from their current jobs. On the other hand, the Lebanese culture regards education as a vital tool for progress and social welfare. The achievement MBA is winning wide social acceptance and is said to improve education quality. Although HCU is ranked as the 11th among the top universities in Lebanon, maintaining a good position at the educational industry is not easy. The educational industry in Lebanon is very competitive, having more than 41 accredited universities and vocational institutes. However, Universities in general face a difficult barrier when they plan to enter the MBA education or expand the range of its specifications because of the accreditation process and evaluation system for the qualification of MBA. They address dozens of different essay topics. The applicants and their essays have been selected to give you the widest possible range of materials from which to profit. The first four applicants all applied to the University of Chicago. They were chosen by Chicago’s admissions director, Don Martin, according to my desire that they be from four very different people and of average quality for those admitted. In other words, these essays will show you exactly what you are competing against. They are of perfectly acceptable quality, but they should not discourage you. If you follow the lessons of this book you should be able to surpass each of these efforts. The second set of three applicants—Melissa, Doreen, and Carol—is taken from Columbia University’s files. Equity and Equality

...of mankind and specially in modern times, many struggles emerged from people’s suppressed anger and hatred of the feudalism and the ruling monopolistic powers, and in their effort to create a system most suitable to their wants and desires and what they take as “values” and “rights” they stumbled on what is to this very day one of the most important and complicated dilemmas of human philosophy: how do we choose between equality and equity? What is the better choice? Do we prefer similarity or justice? And many questions as such, and as other ideas and ideologies go, it remains a major dispute among masses and masses of workers, farmers, countrymen as well as land owners, businessmen and politicians alike, and in many ways it is quite normal, the essence of both those ideas appear the same and are often put in the same category, but in reality they very far from each other on many levels and points of view and they represent systems that do show resemblance but are almost entirely different in functionality and order.
