Memorandum

DATE: April 21, 2013
TO: Leah Hartman
FROM: Team 1
SUBJECT: Team Strategy and Roles

This memorandum provides you with Team 1 members’ primary and secondary roles. It will provide you with an explanation of why the roles were chosen. The memorandum will inform you of each team members’ tasks for completing the Talent Map/Learning Styles Analysis Power Point Presentation. Lastly it will tell you how the team came to this decision.

Primary and Secondary Roles
The team has four members and six roles. Each member has one primary role, one secondary role, and then the team collectively took on two roles. Brayden is primary team leader while team lead is Christopher’s secondary role. Gala and Christie alternate primary and secondary role of recorder and editor. Christopher is the team’s primary analyst with Brayden serving as the secondary analyst. All the members of the team contribute to managing and developing the project.

How Roles Were Chosen
Roles were chosen off of reading the strengths of each member and trying to best fill each one. Brayden’s primary role as team leader ties in with his signature theme of communication because it is needed to lead a team to success. His secondary role of analyst also ties into his communication theme because he will need it to give and receive information from his teammates. Gala’s primary role as recorder ties into her signature themes that fall in the executing category because she is committed to her team and ensuring all of their collaborations are documented punctually. Her secondary role as editor specifically ties into belief because what she lack in editing skills she make up for in a value system that strives to do better and give her best effort not only for herself but for the team. Christopher’s primary role is analyst and his analytical signature theme made him the best candidate for the position. His secondary role as a team leader is most influenced by my discipline theme because it enables him to have a rigid and definite plan that will surely get accomplished by assigning tasks or jobs to do. Christie’s primary role is editor; consistency is one of her signature themes that will help the team provide a meaningful project because people function to their best ability when there is consistency. Her secondary role is recorder; this is where the adaptability theme ties in because she can help the team in other areas when needed. She can be flexible to meet the needs of her team members as well as the project.

Team Members’ Tasks
First Christopher initiated communication amongst the team, and the team collaborated on how to get the ball rolling. Christie filled out the talent map. Brayden established the final roles chart. Gala gathered information from team member for the first assignment. For the analysis questions team members devised a plan to answer the question in a timely manner. Once they are answered Gala and Christie will record and edit the information with the teams help to finally have a power point presentation for submission.

Team’s Decision
The team collaborated to come up with a plan for an effective and productive execution. With different time zones, work schedules, and other commitments, communication was key to finding out each team members’ strengths and utilizing them accordingly.

Conclusion
The team virtually came together and shared information from what has been learned. The team discovered roles by utilizing strengths, talents, and skills. Tasks were established and currently being accomplished, more over the team is satisfied with the decisions made. Therefore, the bottom line is Team 1 has come up with team member roles and a strategy to successfully complete this team project.…...

...Luis Cubilla ENG/221 Technical Writing Fundamentals Zachery Koppelmann January 28 2013 The organization of the memo from Hugh to Abram is partially organized. Hugh does not stray from his subject much and appears to stay on point with what he wants to address. The letter has an average format with a standard intro body and conclusion along with a signature which should be included in all e-mails. The clarity however leaves little to be desired for but at least Hugh admits that he does not understand his own employee or his friend. Hugh talks about how he was advised not to use certain enterprise software’s with by his friend and how he could not understand much of how the situation should be handled or how he should move forward with his business plans. The writing style is very unprofessional; it almost seems more like Hugh is writing to a friend rather than a co-worker or colleague. There are no real formalities Abram is only addressed by name once and the overall feel looks like something a brother would write to his family member. The memo seemed to be a little disrespectful in some ways. First Hugh is talking business matters with a friend rather than Abram, secondly it appears Hough’s friend is providing the basic of warnings that any programmer should look for but Hugh appears to be leaning towards his friend’s advice rather than Abram who as Hough states “respects his professional approach”. To add further insult to injury Abram has been asked to not...

...governments demands for green technologies. Invest in clean technologies and increase partnerships with material providers. Increase company investments mixed with Germany’s incentives towards electrical cars/hybrid vehicles. Conclusion The recommendations for Larson Incorporated are tailored to the different economic futures delineated above. With these staple premises in mind, Larson should take advantage of surrounding opportunities from each changing economy and as shown below in figure 4 all areas of Larson’s corporation are affected within the rise and fall of the business cycle (The ETF Strategist, 2010). The strategies we presented are initiated dependent on the current economy and the future of our market economy. EU economics chief Olli Rehn said: "The economic recovery has taken hold ... However, this recovery is uneven and many member states are going through a difficult period of adjustment." The major bright spot, the analysis said, is notably strong in Germany," where economic activity is expected to expand by 3.7 percent this year, more than double that of the euro area (EU Observer, 2010). ...Executive Memo To: IT Manager, Networking Manager, Administrative Assistant From: USER, Training Project Manager Date: August 10, 2013 Re: 2-Day Training – Post Mortem Review Objective This memo details the benefits and drawbacks of a postmortem review for the training class project.   All included within this memo should partake in the postmortem review meeting to discuss what the team’s hopes were during the project timeline and to discover any changes needed for future training class projects. Benefits of Postmortem Review The benefits of this review are to list the goals and outcome of the project, the actual budget versus the final costs incurred, and any stakeholder participation issues.   It is also helpful to document what worked and what did not throughout the project timeline.   Areas to review are morale, communications, and any cost components such as hardware, software, office space, people, time, and budget. This should also include project scope, requirements, conflict management, and deadlines. Drawbacks of Postmortem Review The drawbacks of this review is that it would be too late to correct any issues or errors that occurred during this project.   Considering that the training class project was on a smaller scale, there were very few milestones to help gauge the success of the entire project. Meeting There will be a meeting the following business day after the training class ends; August 5, 2013 at 9:00am in the main conference room within......

...Memo DATE: November 18, 2015 TO: All Downtown Merchants and their Employees FROM: Jack Jones, VDEF Executive Director SUBJECT: On-street parking complaints I am sending this memorandum out in response to above average numbers of complaints regarding on-street parking by employees of the downtown. As you are all aware, paring for clients and customers within the downtown area is at a premium. I would like to encourage and remind you all to free up the 2-hour on-street spaces by parking in the off-street lots. This is only a minor inconvenience when you look at the space you’ve opened up thus making your business that much more accessible to paying customers. Parking lots are available on South Railway, at the Esplanade, terminal Transit Parkade or other City-owned lots including Cottonwood, Chokecherry and Linden. As an added incentive, the City has recently lowered their parking rates. Lot Rates: * Cottonwood, Chokecherry and Linden rates are $45/month, with some available for $495/year * Transit Terminal Parkade ranges from $40 to $60/month ($440 to $660/year). They will also soon be installing metered parking for $1/hour or $5/day. * Esplanade rates are $47/month ($520/year) on the surface lot of $57/month ($630/year) for the covered parkade. * As you can see for yourself, a monthly pass is much cheaper than the alternative of accumulating parking tickets. ...

...Mombasa, Inc Memo To: CEO From: Tex Matters CC: Board of directors Date: 4/23/2012 Re: our ethical dilemma Thank you for allowing the opportunity to work on this important issue. It is not only important for us to do business, but it is important for us to do it the right way. We have an obligation not only to ourselves, but to our shareholders, customers, family and most importantly our country. We represent our country wherever our business takes us. As requested, we have studied the strength and weakness of every decision we can make with regards to this very important issue. Our analysis studied every important element. We gathered all important information. We asked all important questions. Based on our intensive study we have come up with the following possible alternatives: 1. We should hold our order and remanufacture it, then send it. 2. We should send the order as is to prevent loss to our bottom line. 3. We should inform our client of the issue, and offer to send the order at a discounted price. All the alternatives we concluded were legitimate in their own right. Any decision we make will have a justification. The most important element in our decision making process will be to evaluate whether or not each decision falls within our values. Our values are our rocks. We cling onto them in hard times. They always lead us. When we step out of our comfort zone, it affects our decision making. We impair our ability to make the right decision and......

Memo

...Memo: There are three possible alternatives to address this situation. Let us discuss each alternative one by one. The first alternative is that company issues a warning that the toy is unsuitable for the children and thus, the whistle should be used with caution. The major advantage of this alternative is that it does not result in any financial losses as the toys can be shipped immediately. However, this alternative can attract legal consequences as the toy fails to pass the regulatory standards. Further, it is highly unethical for the company to ship the toys even without warning as it could be harmful for children. It is unethical for the company to ship the product which is unacceptable by US standards to another country, even though the regulations are not stringent in that country as it can harm the children in that country as well. The second alternative to address this issue is to reproduce the product and meet the acceptable limits for lead and repackage it at a cost of $100,000. This alternative will result in numerous benefits. First of all, it will be a ethical decision on part of the company. Secondly, this decision will not attract any legal liabilities and will allow the company to maintain its reputation. However, the disadvantage is that this option will result in financial losses of $100,000 for the company. The third alternative is to ship the manufactured product to a country where such product is legally accepted or meets the regulatory standard.......
