To: Janice Jones, Committee Manager From: Chrissy Joyner, Project Manager Date: May 22, 2009 Subject: The Advantages of Using Lot 123 as an Eatery

This memo is to show the importance of placing an eatery in the vacant location on the first floor. Based on my findings, I have found that it is extremely beneficial to our company if we place an eatery with several local restaurant choices on the first floor.

What Are the Advantages?

One of the greatest advantages is that it has employees staying within the building and dining. Therefore, employees have no reason to be late coming back from lunch. In a survey I completed with the employees, 80 percent of them said having an eatery on the premises would make them want to work during lunch hours. They stated that it is an inconvenience to have to stop what they are doing and drive 3 miles to get lunch. By the time they get back to work, the food is cold and it is time to clock back in. Since the goal is to make the operations efficient while keeping the current employees happy, different eateries will keep employees happy because of the convenience of somewhere to eat for lunch since there is only one break room available. Thus having an eatery on the site would increase production and revenue for the company.

How will Revenue Increase?

On an estimated projection, I show revenue being increased by 40% from having an eatery on site. Reason being is that when outside customers see their local favorites expanding to see their dinner menu for lunch and at a fraction of the cost their revenues will increase. In addition, these same customers will reach out to the surrounding businesses and give them service, thus creating a growing effect in revenue increase.
