Elementary School Playground
I remember that when I revisit to my elementary school playground. The school was near my home but I had never been to the school after graduation. For some reason, I don't quite remember, but I visited the school ten years after graduation.
As soon as I entered the school, I was quite surprised at the school because it looked very different than when I last saw the school. Playground became small, but I know it’s literally not smaller. School walls, which were higher than my height, became as lower as half of my height so that I can see out of school landscape. Boys sometimes jumped down from the wall to show their bravery. But I don't know how they express now. I turned to chin-up bar and I could remember I often used to hang upside down on the chin-up bar for over some minutes thinking that will make me grow up faster. But I regret now that I’m grown up. Just below the chin-up bar, there is sand that I rolled over. I played wrestling with my friends. Even though I was slim figure, I tried to win my friends to impress girls around. In the corner of playground, there are slides. I think I didn't take stairs to go down slides. Instead of going up the stairs of the slides, I would rather enjoy to go up through the sliding side because it made me feel like I conquered the playground. But it made my shoes worn out just like my childhood
I sat on the long low stairs that I cheered when field day. The ground no longer needed spray line-marking machine, because it's put in the tiles to see the line convenience instead of white powder. However, I don't know why but I felt like something lacked or leave to be desired.
I found that there is new building for the gymnasium. But for some reason, I didn't enter the gymnasium. I didn't want to enter it in the time. I think I would want to keep my childhood memory.

The funny thing I found out was that there were no any children in playground. It was around 3pm and right after finished school. The imageries that kids that used to run around until sunset in my memory are no longer there anymore. "Why!" I just only can think was children these days do is stay inside surfing and play game the Internet. Even when they do go out, it is to go to a PC room for more using Internet. My generation's childhood memories involve playing endlessly, but this generation of children may not be doing that. The school that I revisited did remind me of my old past but the kids are no longer growing up the way I did. This empty playground makes me to rekindle my own past even more.

The Cultural Significance Of Halloween

...Among the many national holidays like Christmas and Easter, Halloween stands out as the most interesting and entertaining one. Cultural significance aside, the recent modern blend and creativity boost has raised Halloween to a level unparalleled in its history. Halloween is encouraged by the modern blends of the society. Gathering the community for a celebration not specific to any group does wonders. Through social practices like parties and trick or treating, because Halloween is a recreational event, it urges people to connect and come closer, as family, friends or strangers. Since it is an event about evil souls retuning back to living, it also inculcates patience, sharing and tolerance by generating compassionate interaction between adults...

Single on Valentine's Day

...around the time I turned 14. On Valentine's Day, I waited in line with hordes of other teenagers just for a chance to get into the store. I remember wishing two things. One: That I wasn't the only person there with her mother. Two: That the cute boy whom I could see through the store window was skimming through the aisles picking out a gift for me. It was such a scene — the hundreds of greeting cards with messages of love and romance, guys in their school uniforms looking uncomfortable as they tried to pick the perfect stuffed animal for their girlfriends, many of whom were beside them giving them not-so-subtle hints. I wanted so desperately to be a part of this. Unfortunately, Valentine's Day passed and I received nothing but a lecture from my father on how Western capitalism was ruining our culture. The next Valentine's Day, I still didn't have a boyfriend, but I did receive a greeting card from a secret admirer. It would have been flattering, except the card featured a picture of an office desk with neatly arranged paper clips and pens. I can't remember what it said inside the card, but it hardly mattered. While other women inspire candlelit dinners and marriage proposals, some guy felt the need to tell me that I was as exciting as office supplies. Not to say that all my Valentine's Days have been dull. I had a particularly memorable one the year I was dating, long-distance, a guy who lived in England. I had been waiting all day for him to surprise me. I had thought up several...

...Day One – Orientation Day one of training a new employee is a very important piece of orienting and training. In the firs day the employee is exposed to the new people and materials. Orientation is not just something that happens on the first day, but it is something that is included throughout the training process. In the beginning of the hiring process we can begin the orientation by explaining the job description to the potential employee as well as any company history, and any pay information. This is also known as an offer meeting. At this point it is a great time to ask the new employee if they have any questions or concerns. It is important to let them ask all questions they need to. This will make them feel more comfortable and open towards new concepts and ideas. Once they are hired we can begin on explaining all of the rules, polices, and procedures. It is very important to be clear and concise on the rules. Being clear about all the information can help to keep the new employees attitude be positive in the future of the company. All policies are also explained. The orientation can also get deeper into detail on any benefits such as setting up a 401 k, and how to request time off, or sick days. ...My Microtel Inn & Suites in Cabanatuan has been a great experience for me as a hospitality student because the seminar and stay they had offered to us students had enhanced and build our knowledge on the different sides of the hospitality industry, but it also made a great part on our personal growth as a person and as a worker in the near future. The first seminar that was discussed is about the brief history of the hotel industry and how the Microtel Inn & Suites had started in the world of hotel industry. Mr. Joel Cucueco facilitated the first seminar and discussed on the achievements and milestones of Microtel Cabanatuan. The powerful words and little witty things Mr. Cucueco has said made the opening seminar active, not just because there is a Goya to anyone who will answer Mr. Cucueco’s question, but because the topic is very interesting to be taken for granted. The next topic is the housekeeping department and we are teached on how to make a bed. After  the demonstration of the bed making, we were challenged  that there will be a bed making competition in the morning, everyone was challenged to make-up the bed with the best they can. The succeeding seminars were barista and entrepreneurship which was facilitated by Mr. Philip Tiongson who is the bar manager of Liquid Coffee Bar and Resto. The whole crowd was so alive that everyone was laughing on their chairs. Mr. Tiongson was a whole package of a speaker because he is not a boring speaker. He discussed on the coffee...

...Assignment 5 Name: (Your Name) For Dr. Larry Byrd HRM533 Date: (Today’s date) (Title) Innovations of Employee Benefits The succeeding paragraphs will explain how innovations in employee benefits can improve the overall competitive compensation strategy of the organization. The first way is offer onsite day care facilities. The study suggests that on-site daycare is not only affordable; it is in many cases profitable. Further, the study found that a majority of workers would be willing to contribute to the cost of employer-sponsored daycare whether or not they used the benefit. "There are several kinds of employers who typically have on-site childcare, such as high-tech and healthcare industries, and others who need 24-hour workers, such as airline reservation companies," notes Connelly. "The few studies that have been done on on-site childcare focused on those companies with highly educated workforces. We were particularly interested in another group of companies - those who weren't offering daycare as part of a whole package of family-friendly benefits or because of a corporate philosophy, but rather because they had done an economic analysis of their particular set of workers and had decided that on-site childcare would be economically beneficial to their company." The second way is pet-friendly offices. Not all companies are created equal when it comes to the acceptance of dogs in the workplace. Some readily welcome your best friend while others...

...Vaughan Cohen Musical Copyright Infringement October 23, 2012 Prof. Hichborn Dillinger Four's "Doublewhiskeycokenoice” vs. Green Day’s “American Idiot” On September 21st, 2004, Green Day released their album “American Idiot,” a work that many believed to the catalyst for their comeback in the early 2000s. The album, released by Reprise Records and produced by their longtime partner Rob Cavallo, achieved huge success worldwide, charting in 27 countries and topping at number one in 19 of them, including the United States and the United Kingdom. American Idiot has sold over 14 million copies worldwide, over 6 million copies of which were in the United States alone, including 267,000 in its opening week (Gunderson, 2008). The album went on to be such a huge success, that in 2010 a Broadway musical was created based on the album, creatively entitled, “American Idiot; The Musical.” Five of the singles on this smash-hit album reached Platinum certification by the RIAA, possibly the most popular being the song entitled “American Idiot.” Among an array of other accolades, “American Idiot” was nominated for four Grammy Awards and was a number one on the charts for an impressive thirteen weeks, and in turn, no doubt brought a huge amount of financial success to the writers and composers of the composition. According to The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), there are three original writers of this composition, being Billy Joe Armstrong (singer), Mike...

Day Care Center - Philippines

...Overview Child care feasibility studies provide information critical to evaluating the potential of a new child care center, based on a complete review of the market dynamics, services, customers, competition, and pricing. Since no two child care centers are the same, Perspectives Consulting Group, Inc. focuses on identifying and providing relevant information for each center using a customized research process. Our research process includes telephone interviews, contacting various city and state agencies, and researching the child care industry as a whole. Once the information is obtained, Perspectives Consulting Group, Inc. analyzes the information and provides direction for making effective and efficient decisions. The Power of Small Wins

...WHAT IS THE BEST WAY to drive innovative work inside organizations? Important clues hide in the stories of world-renowned creators. ItturnS out that ordinary scientists, marketers, programmers, and other unsung knowledge workers, whose jobs require creative productivity every day, have more in common with famous innovators than most managers realize. The workday events that ignite their emotions, fuel their motivation, and trigger their perceptions are fundamentally the same. The Double Helix, James Watson's 1968 memoir about discovering the structure of DNA, describes the roller coaster of emotions he and Francis Crick experienced through the progress and setbacks of the work that eventually earned them the Nobel Prize. After the excitement of their first attempt to build a DNA model, Watson and Crick noticed some serious flaws. According to Watson, "Our first minutes with the models…were not joyous." Later that evening, "a shape began to emerge which brought back our spirits." But when they showed their "breakthrough" to colleagues, they found that their model would not work. Dark days of doubt and ebbing motivation followed. When the duo finally had their bona fide breakthrough, and their colleagues found no fault with it, Watson wrote, "My morale skyrocketed, for I suspected that we now had the answer to the riddle." Watson and Crick were so driven by this success that they practically lived in the lab, trying to complete the work. Throughout these episodes, Watson and...
