Mending a Broken Heart
Admit that these are the five usual things we do after break-ups, listening to sentimental music, thinking of getting back together, looking at the pictures of your exes, excessive eating and changing lifestyle. Mending a broken heart is never easy but aren’t these masochistic? Don’t they just add up to the pain?
Just like what other say “time will heal the pain” but isn’t the meantime turning out the mean time? Break-ups are really disillusionment and a good cry simply can’t allocate the pain and surely, morphine won’t help. And though it can make you numb, even liquors can’t drown your sorrows. But whether you did the break-up or you are the one who gets’ busted, there are ways to make your situation somewhat easier to bear so you can move on.
One thing is to never fantasize about your getting back together, remember that assuming and expecting is the root of all heartaches.
The first and hardest part of moving on is to dispose everything that reminds you of your ex: pictures, favourite music together, monthsary or anniversary gifts, couple shirts, letters, everything! And cutting all the lines of communication as well as blocking him/her on your facebook. Never mind if he/ she will feel you’re bitter because this is the fastest way of moving on.
Next is to make yourself busy. Instead of locking yourself up in your room, spend time doing necessary things like working, sporting, exercise/jog and bonding with friends. Another good option is going into a holiday trip with your family or friends. A change of location will also do you some good. If you bore yourself it may lead you once again, to fantasizing, and surely you don’t want that to take place.
Once you’re okay, that’s the time you find another new one. Be vigilant though, you are not on a rush. Some people think that after the break up finding another new one is the best way to overcome the problem but no, rebounding is another recipe for disaster. Never be on a relationship just for the purpose of getting over someone else. It is unfair to the other and you’re putting yourself into a pit. The bet way of getting better is simply smile, keep a positive attitude and outlook in life and learn from your break-ups. Recognize it as opportunity to learn a life lesson. 

How to Mend a Broken Heart

...How to mend a broken heart Going through a heartbreak can feel like being underwater when you need to breath. Mending a broken heart is not an easy quick process and can be time consuming. The person in this situation can feel there is no light at the end of the tunnel. A broken heart can be caused by one of many devastating occurrences or scenarios in life, such as the passing of a loved one, losing/not getting your dream job or the infamous breaking up with your significant other, which this essay will concentrate on. People build their lives with someone they trust and care for, and then, in a blink of an eye, it can be. This can leave most people angry and sorrowful, questioning themselves and possibly their future. Once a person has past the grieving stage and the hours of crying themselves to sleep, then this person must give themselves some “me time”. They must make time for themselves. People sometimes get caught up in a routine with their daily lives, especially after a break up. They should take a weekend and do things that make them happy, whether it’s hiking, biking, cooking or hanging out with friends that make them happy. Doing things that you love will not only distract a person from the heartache but can help a person realize they can be happy again. Writing down one’s feelings in a journal is a good coping mechanism. It can purify the mind through expression, thus resulting in happiness. Understanding and forgiving are major contributing factors in the...

Essay on the Rental Heart

...stories. However, getting your heart broken at some point in your life is inevitable. For some, it happens more than once. This is the case for our main character in the short story “The Rental Heart”, by Kirsty Logan. To begin with, the reader has no clue as to whether the main character is a boy or a girl. In my head though, I got the image of a girl. The story is about this girl, who gets her heart broken over and over again, by boys as well as girls (she is bisexual). It’s not really a problem for her, because she can just go to the heart rental place and get a new one right away, ready for the next person in line. It’s nothing but a piece of machinery, capable of loving another human being. When you’re done with that person, or the other way around, you just go back the rental place and order a new heart. It’s very smart actually. But just like any other machinery, cogs and bolts get rusty, and sometimes you get a defect device. How many times can you get your heart broken then? If you can just go change it once it’s broken, surely you would be able to get it broken as many times as you would need? That’s not the case for our main character. With her last girlfriend in the story, Grace, she finds out that she has a defect heart, and when she goes to check it, it’s all dusty and empty. She literally has “a broken heart”. This is the main theme in the story. What the writer is trying to tell us is, that if you keep making bumps and dents in your heart, in the end it will break...

Essay On Poverty And Poverty

...WEALTH AND POVERTY – JUDAISM The Jewish scholar of old viewed poverty as a great trouble and said that “he who is crushed by poverty is as though he were liable to every one of the sufferings of the world" (Midrash Rabbah, Exodus, 31:12). Poverty is a challenge and an opportunity for poor and most importantly for those with the means to help the needy. The bible lays down the brief precept as follow: In the event that, there is a poor individual among you, don't solidify your heart and close your hand. Maybe, you should open your hand and loan him, adequate for whatever he needs. Be careful keeping in mind that you harbor the base thought, with the goal that you are stingy towards your penniless brother and give him nothing and he shouts out to the Lord against you and you have sinned. Provide for him promptly and have no second thoughts when you do as such … the Lord your God will favor you in every one of your endeavors and in every one of your endeavors. For there will never stop to be destitute individuals in your property, which is the reason I charge you; open your hand to poor people and penniless family in your territory...

Effects of Having a Broken Family in Academic

...10 tips to mend a broken heart Bess Myerson once wrote that “to fall in love is awfully simple, but to fall out of love is simply awful.” Especially if you are the one who wanted the relationship to last. Mending a broken heart is never easy. There is no quick way to stop your heart from hurting so much. To stop loving isn’t an option. Author Henri Nouwen writes, “When those you love deeply reject you, leave you, or die, your heart will be broken. But that should not hold you back from loving deeply. The pain that comes from deep love makes your love ever more fruitful.” But how do we get beyond the pain? Here are 10 tips I’ve gathered from experts and from conversations with friends on how they patched up their heart and tried, ever so gradually, to move on. 1. Go through it, not around it. I realize the most difficult task for a person with a broken heart is to stand still and feel the crack. But that is exactly what she must do. Because no shortcut is without its share of obstructions. Here’s a simple fact: You have to grieve in order to move on. During the 18 months of my severe depression, my therapist repeated almost every visit: “Go through it. Not around it.” Because if I went around some of the issues that were tearing me apart inside, then I would bump into them somewhere down the line, just like being caught in the center of a traffic circle. By going through the intense pain, I eventually surfaced as a stronger person ready to tackle problems head on. Soon the...

Life

...Breaking up is never fun. The end of a relationship means the beginning of a period of mourning and healing for both people. If the break up was mutual both people will experience a period of adjustment where they are getting used to no longer being together. If the break up was not mutual the person who ended things may be dealing with guilt and feelings that they may have made a mistake. The person being broken up with will definitely have to adjust, first to being rejected and second to life without somebody they still care for. How do you get through those first few weeks? Here we list eight essential things everybody must do in the early days of a break up to let the healing begin. 1. Avoid the former love. Yes, avoid. No, this isn’t being immature. Seeing your former flame can bring out emotions and may cause you do to or say something you will regret. In the first few weeks the best thing you can do for yourself is not be where you know they will be. 2. Talk out your feelings with close friends. Get everything out so that you won’t hold it inside. Your friends may get sick of hearing you talk about the situation but you need to let out all your feelings and thoughts or they may come back to bite you later. 3. Cry if you want to. It’s OK to cry over a loss. Don’t hold back, let the tears roll just do it in a safe and private place where it is unlikely to get back to your ex. You don’t want your tears to be used as a guilt trip. Their purpose is to cleanse you of any pain...

M1: the Role of Energy in the Body

... The food we eat, in the form of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, is used as fuel for reactions in the body that make us 'alive'. To utilise these fuels for muscle action, the body converts them to a common 'energy currency', called adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP), once converted to ATP, it can lose its chemical energy and it becomes ADP. We all need energy to move our body. In order to get energy, we need to eat right, then put ourselves to motivate for every day. If we have no energy in our body, we are dead by now. Glucose is a simple sugar that provides the body with its primary source of energy. This type of sugar comes from digesting carbohydrates into a chemical that the body can easily convert to energy. The carbohydrate is broken down into glucose by enzymes in precise stages that allow energy to be released so that it can be used by the person, when glucose levels in the bloodstream aren't properly regulated, a person can develop a serious condition, such as diabetes. The process involves the random motion of oxygen and glucose from regions of higher concentration First the oxygen must diffuse from the alveolus into the capillaries. It is able to do this because the capillaries are permeable to oxygen. After it...

Simply Masterful

...College Comp 2 Research Paper Simply Masterful “Most of us would prefer to look at cartoons in a magazine than read a poem," says Kooser. Poetry reflects life in a way that even big movies, cannot do. Kooser’s poems invite the reader to reflect on everyday items and to notice the small details and beauties of the world. He has a talent to express emotions in a way that the readers themselves will experience. He has been referred to as the master of the short metaphorical poem (Gioia). Kooser has lived in Iowa and Nebraska all of his life. His decision to remain in the Midwest has resulted in a limited audience for his work, but Gioia concludes by observing that Kooser “has written more perfect poems than any poet of his generation” (Gioia). “Kooser wants a poetry anyone can read without shame and understand without labor, because he thinks poetry has too long been in the hands of poets who go out of their way to make their poems difficult if not downright discouraging” (Logan). Although many authors poetry is extremely hard to understand, Ted Kooser’s well-constructed poetic language and simple eloquent style, conveys a heartfelt message toward subjects like loved ones, everyday items, and rural America that are effortless to comprehend throughout his poetry as a result of his tone, imagery, personification, and the uncomplicated metaphors. Kooser has always been identified primarily as a poet. “While I was at work, I did everything that was required of me and kept getting...

He chirped as he gave his dad a hug and ran off. Unknown to him, things weren't going to stay cheerful... He continued happily down the road, two of his wolf companions bounding after him obediently with happy yips and barks. They remained blissfully oblivious until a terrifying screech startled them. Roa screamed, ducking into a bush just as a Nazgul came riding down the road. It hissed, the horse it road rearing back with a haunting neigh before slamming it's hooves to the ground. The stallion, as Roa noticed by it's build, turned it's head towards him. Roa's heart lurched to a dead stop as his eyes widened. "No..." He whispered before he could stop himself. The Nazgul looked in his direction before screeching once again. Roa screamed, diving out of the bush and running as fast...
