Marketing Strategy

...North America Equity Research 22 September 2014 US Automakers See Attractively Deep Value in GM As We Roll Out 2016 Estimates for US Automakers; Like Ford; Cautious on TSLA We introduce our 2016 estimates and roll-forward valuation for GM and Ford, finding +50% upside in the case of General Motors and +32% in the case of Ford. Our established 2015 price targets increase on newly considered 2016 earnings rather than 2015 in our valuation analysis and on capital structure roll-forward as the firms generate sizable cash flow. 2016 earnings are expected to rise relative to 2015, on industry tailwinds (continued trend toward more normal volumes in Europe, cycling past a period of atypically strong macro headwinds in South America, robust growth in China, and continued cyclical increase in North America even if at a lesser rate) as well as various different self-help initiatives (e.g., as restructurings in Europe, Australia, and elsewhere take further hold, and on cost control efforts in North America). We reiterate our Overweight ratings on both GM and Ford, seeing more value in automaker stocks than in supplier stocks generally, on earnings that are growing almost as quickly as the average supplier over our newly extended forecast window (and at least as structurally improved relative to history) but valuation which is only in line with historical average (Ford) or even significantly below (GM). We are more cautious on Tesla, however, with our Neutral rating balancing incremental...

...„ Project Management Institute, 2002. Used with permission. The underlying theory of project management is obsolete1 Lauri Koskela, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Gregory Howell, Lean Construction Institute Abstract In prior literature, it has been generally seen that there is no explicit theory of project management. We contend that it is possible to precisely point out the underlying theoretical foundation of project management as espoused in the PMBOK Guide by PMI and mostly applied in practice. This foundation can be divided into a theory of project and a theory of management. We link theories to the body of knowledge by comparing prescriptions derived from theory to prescriptions presented in the PMBOK. Secondly, we show, by a comparison to competing theories and by an analysis of anomalies (deviations from assumptions or outcomes as implied in the body of knowledge) observed in project management practice, that this foundation is obsolete and has to be substituted by a wider and more powerful theoretical foundation. Introduction In a recent report on the future of project management and its professionals (Project Management Institute 1999), several global trends, such as technological advancements and the accelerated global change, were identified, in relation to which project management can take a leading role in facilitating and enabling the changes involved. The report also contains, in an appendix, a concise study on the development of bodies ...

...MGMT 503 Obopay |Michael Irroni | 08 Fall Obopay Lauren O’Brien | Jaspreet Sanghera | LunLun Fu | Ashleigh Jessup | Eila Shargh | Michael Irroni | Nasir Rizvi 08 Fall Obopay is a private company currently located in San Mateo, CA. Since Obopay is a private company, the information utilized for this analysis came from sources such as confidential company documents as well as interviews with the former General Counsel and current consultant, CFO, and SVP of HR. A comparative company to Obopay is the Indian telecommunications giant Bharti Airtel. This company was chosen because its Airtel Money segment offers the same service as Obopay in Obopay’s primary market of India. The analysis presented in this paper is as of May 2012. Part I: Company Background History of Obopay Obopay is one of the first companies to provide mobile payment solutions, integrating mobile technology with money services. The concept behind Obopay and the mobile wallet came to Carol Realini while traveling to Africa where she saw how many people despite not having access to basic banking services did own mobile phones (“TLP SV Speakers for Nov 4: Obopay and Venrock”). Founded by Carol Realini in 2005, Obopay was designed to make banking services as pervasive as mobile phones by partnering with financial institutions and mobile service providers. In the last seven years, Obopay has established partnerships with organizations such as Nokia, MasterCard, AT&T, Verizon, Essar,...
