I. Introduction
A. Identify the organization
1. Brief overview of the organization
The organization that will be the topic of discussion in my final project is Piedmont Heart Institute. Building on more than a century of experience, they employ more than 85 prominent cardiovascular physicians therefore forming one of the premier cardiac centers in the region by bringing together three of the largest cardiology practices in the region. Piedmont Heart Institute was formed so that they could provide patients with a new and innovative place for care. Like many healthcare facilities, Piedmont Heart Institute went through a big lay off in 2010 and not only was locations shut down but it caused the layoff of quite a lot of employees. They went from being a stand-alone company to now being a part of a larger entity Piedmont Hospital. With the layoff’s, Piedmont Heart Institute lost a lot of employees that were highly valuable and cannot be replaced which means jobs are getting dropped by the way side.
As an entity operating under the umbrella of Piedmont Hospital, Piedmont Heart Institute has pledge to become the top 10 hospital in 10 years and they are well on their way to do so. They have hired some of the top physicians from all over the country to add to the already excellent physicians on staff. The cutting edge services that they are offering to the patient’s range from Cardiac care, Heart transplant services, Heart cauterization, EP (Electrophysiological) services just to name a few.

As the current operational manager I have noticed some items that need to be addressed on their way to becoming a high performance organization. While this organization is doing well financially, there are definitely some areas that need to be improved on their way to becoming a high performance organization. ...Activity 9.5 MGMT 391 Introduction to Project Management Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University To whom it may concern, In order to understand what your organization has just gone through, I will explain the Berkeley’s project management maturity model. It was developed by several organizations based on the Capability Maturity Model, an earlier version of Capability Maturity Model Integration. It started just as organizations realized the need to improve their own software development processes and systems and to develop their project management processes and systems for all kinds of projects. The Berkeley’s project management process maturity model is comprised of five levels. In the ad-hoc stage, there are no recognized procedures or plans to implement the project (Schwalbe, 2013). The activities of the project are inadequately defined and cost assessments are mediocre. Associated data collection and analysis are not directed in the process maturity. These processes are absolutely erratic and poorly controlled without any formal steps or guidelines to warrant process maturity methods and practices. The utilization of process maturity tools and practices is unreliable and only applied infrequently, if at all. At the planned stage, project management processes, problem areas, and data are casually defined, identified, and collected (Schwalbe, 2013). Select process maturity problems are acknowledged, but these glitches are not documented or remedied. These associated......

...Emotional Intelligence plays an important role in job performance. 3. The Tuchman five stage of team building is used to identify factors that are critical for building and developing small groups. The Tuchman five distinct stages groups go through: forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. The forming stage is the first stage in group development, characterized by much uncertainty. The storming stage is the second stage in group development, characterized by intra group conflict. The norming stage is the third stage in group development, characterized by close relationships and cohesiveness. The performing stage is the fourth stage in group development, during which the group is fully functional and the adjourning stage is the final stage in group development for temporary groups, characterized by concern with wrapping up activities rather than task performance. 4. Gender differences are sometimes a barrier to effective communications. Men tend to use talk to emphasize status, whereas women tend to use it to create communications. The women speak and hear a language of connection and intimacy; men speak and hear a language of status, power and independence. So, for many men, conversations are primarily a mean to preserve independence and maintain status in a hierarchical social order. For many women, conversations are negotiations for closeness in which people try to seek and give confirmation and support. Women are more polite. 5. Leadership is the......

A feasibility is conducted to identify the best system that meets the all the requirements. This includes an identification description, an evaluation of the proposed systems and selection of the best system for the job. The requirements of the system are specified with a set of constraints such as system objectives and the description of the out puts. It is then duty of the analyst to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed system to generate the above results. Three key factors are to be considered during the feasibility study. 1. OPERATION FEASIBILITY An estimate should be made to determine how much effort and care will go into the developing of the system including the training to be given to the user. Usually, people are reluctant to changes that come in their progression. The computer initialization will certainly affected the turn over, transfer and employee job status. Hence an additional effort is to be made to train and educate the users on the new way of the system. 2. TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY The main consideration is to be given to the study of available resources of the organization where the software is to be implemented. Here the system analyst evaluates the technical merits of the system giving emphasis on the performance, Reliability,......

... Performance Measurement in Project Management Project Management 437 Performance Measurement in Project Management The need to measure the performance of a project in world of business is an important part of project management. Measuring the performance of a project means monitoring the employees as they complete their project tasks. Project managers use performance measurers to identify schedule or cost issues early enough in the project to correct the problem. The measurers are necessary to ensure the product is delivered on time or service is completed according to the budget. As a result of measuring project performance, the organization can obtain an understanding of how well their project teams work. Measurers also can show the project manager frequent areas that need to be addressed because of poor performance.
