1. I think potential synergies for CarweB is getting a huge database, and also expend the Solera international market. As case mentioned, if Solera want to get bigger, it need to expend their market. So they found the U.K is a big market for their business, the best way to get into UK’s market is acquires one of the U.K’s company limited. So we can see CarweB is the best choose. From case, we know that CarweB is a company which provides vehicle history and vehicle-specific technical data products and services. When Solera acquired 100% of outstand share of CarweB limited, all the database that CarweB has now belong to Solera. With those databases, Solera can have a good notification about the U.K market. Also Solera purchase 100% of the membership interests of Explore information services in the U.S. In this way, they can get a large amount of basic information about the customers, like their email address, their preference, and even their family number. Solera can send customers email with their Ad, in this way, they can get even large amount customers, and also let them know about company’s information. So we can see Solera can get a bigger business by actual acquisition. In this way, it can get a large amount information from the company they acquisition. And also by doing it, it can get the bigger market value.
2. I think for Solera, it uses broad strategy which means it wants to add more regions to create more value or to create potential profits. Also it use quality differentiation, which means they have different style market in each regions, in this way, they can get diversity market to attract more customer. And the service in each regions should be different depend on local store. one of the important benefits is Netherlands also is a big market for Solera, they add this country which means they can expend their market, and get more customers, in this way, they can increase their revenues. Also another benefit is Netherlands is a new market for company, so there are lots of things can be develop, and lots of potential valued need to be found compare with the U.S. the potential concern will be the competitor in Netherlands. Solera get into Netherlands as a foreign company, it is kind of hard for it to defeat the local companies. Another problem will be the labor and raw material in Netherlands. If the labor cost is higher than other regions, it is going to be a problem for company, and also for the raw material, because Solera as a foreign company get into this new country. Also as I mentioned before, Netherlands as a new market, it may go well or may go wrong, it is fear of future.
3. I think Solera use courts very well. Solera weak its competitor, and also use this way, it can make Solera go stronger and stronger. It also affects whole industry. Solera get trust from the other companies in this industry, and also get more customers. Because by doing it, it can improve its reputation.
