Mid Term Paper Assignment
I: Theory Description The theory I have chosen to write about is the trait theory also known as the dispositional theory. This theory approaches personality as a combination of aspects rather than one definitive source. These traits are characteristics that cause an individual to behave in a certain way and refer to emotions and thoughts. According to the trait theory personality traits are stable over time and only differ from person to person. The number of possible traits that can affect a personality is for the most part never ending. There are; however groupings of traits that appear together more often than not in either extreme. Psychologist Gordon Allport categorized some …show more content…
I feel that my personality and really all personalities are a combination of multiple traits. These traits come together to cause behaviors and reactions to the environment. I feel that perfectionism and extraversion are the most prevalent traits that apply to my personality. These two traits, together, have severely affected my life in a major way. I am responsible for a department in a hospital. I believe that my personality is a big reason for my success in this field and that these two traits in particular work together to help me react appropriately to my …show more content…
My home is very organized and constantly clean. I do not just dislike mess and clutter but it legitimately mentally bothers me. I cannot say that my personality entirely revolves around cleanliness by any means. I enjoy art and gardening which all require some amount of mess. However, there are certain traits, that I would consider secondary traits, of my personality that only show in certain situations as in when we are expecting company or when I spend some days working from home. These aspects of my personality that strive for organization and cleanliness can be put to the way side at times in my life as in those I mentioned or cooking, but when other circumstances arise they appear in full force. After researching through the chapters that we have been reading, I believe that the methods of inquiry is basically finding out and utilizing the concepts of the five W’s. I do believe after all of the reading that they are the: who, what, when, where, why, and also how a crime was committed.
