When people think of a famous person, they usually think of an actor or actress. They do not usually think of famous scientists that helped make our world better. Millie Dresselhaus made our world better. She helped discover how to put electronics “everywhere”, which we use now everyday, but not many people know a lot about her. On November 11, 1930, Mildred Spiewak was born. She was born in the Bronx, New York. She was raised in an impoverished household, but overcame those obstacles and got a high quality education. She attended Hunter High School, and then attended Hunter College, through a state scholarship. She earned her degree in science, with high honors, in 1951.
