Marketing Mix

...The Marketing Mix Holly Brown MKT/421 April 24, 2013 Mary Hinds The Marketing Mix Starting in 1962 by Sam Walton, Wal-Mart grew into a major corporation that serves in 15 international markets, including more than 3,600 stores in the United States alone. In 2012, it was ranked #1 for the second year in a row on the Fortune 500 list. Wal-Mart is a widely known corporation that offers just about anything and everything a person could ask for. Known for their customer service, wide variety of selection, convenient locations, and ability to make customers happy, it is easy to see why the marketing mix that they use is a key factor in the continuing growth and success of the business. The marketing mix of a company consists of four components, or the four P’s: Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. Each part is something that is a part of the product’s marketing plan and is controlled. The four P’s are created and edited in order for the company to produce a marketing plan that serves the needs of customers and produces the most attainable income for the company. Product describes the types of products a company is marketing to increase sales. The price of these products determines how well a company will do compared to that of its’ competitors. The place in which the company is located will determine what types of customers will shop from the consumer. Last, the way in which a company promotes its’ products will determine the attention the company gets....

The positioning and differentiation will also be explained and how they relate to the perceptual map simulation. While taking the simulation one could see that the product life cycle was effected during scenarios. Simulation The motorcycle company produced over 200,000 motorcycles a year and the most popular one is the Cruiser Thorr. Major problem came when the customer base started to change and the sales started to decline. The reason for the decline in sales is the demographic the motorcycle company decided to target. They decided to target the older generation and priced the Thorr too high for the younger generation. Being that the motorcycle company decided to market to the more mature demographic the company did not focus their marketing on the younger generation thus they were not even aware of the motorcycles. That decision had a great effect on the sale of the motorcycles....

...Marketing plan Name: Yiyao Wang Professor: Dr. Kevin Tullis Course: MKT 500 Strayer University : Date: 7/25/2014 Introduction According to Westwood (2013), a marketing plan is an outline of an organization's marketing strategies. A marketing plan outlines the current position of the organization in relation to its competitive advantage and the suitable courses of marketing actions that can be undertaken by a specific firm to increase its competitive analysis. When developing a marketing plan, several factors that can impact on the marketing efforts of the firm are put into consideration (Westwood, 2013). Such factors include the strengths of the firm to undertake its intended marketing plan and the threats it faces by undertaking to implement its marketing plan. Still, there are external factors that can impact on the marketing strategies of the firm (Kotler, 2011). Kotler (2011) provides that those marketing strategies that can impact on the marketing strategies of the organization are referred to as external environmental factors, and they are out of the control of the firm. Hence, it is necessary to consider them when developing a marketing plan in order to ensure that they do not contribute to the failure of the plan (Kotler, 2011). In this paper, the company to which a marketing plan is written is a multinational company which deals with manufacturing and selling of electronics....

With this store he hoped that it could create a comfortable environment for men, with wood-paneled walls, Victorian details and helpful sales staff. Instead of racks of bras and panties in every size, there were single styles, paired together and mounted on the wall in frames. Men could browse for styles for women and sales staff would help estimate the appropriate size, pulling from inventory in the back rooms....
