List the website(s) you visited here: http://fuelgaugereport.aaa.com/todays-gas-prices/.com

1. (2 points): What was the average price of a gallon of gas 1 year from when your business math class started?
A month ago the national average gas price was 2.035
2. (5 points): You have \$50 on hand and need to buy gas. How many gallons of gas can you buy (using the value you reported in Question 1.)If i had 50 on hand i would be able to purchase 24.57 gallons of gas for a total of 49.99995 which would be 50.00.
3. (5 points): If gas prices were to drop 10% from the current price, how much would a gallon of gas cost now?
Current national price per gallon of gas is 2.328. The difference from the price of gas a month ago vs. the cost of gas per gallon currently. The price of gas had increased by about 12.5%.
4. (5 points): Using the average for 1 year ago, and the average for 6 months ago, calculate the percent increase or decrease in the price of a gallon of gas over that 6 month time span.
A year ago 3.426 and 6 months ago was 3.65 so there was a decrease by 6.5%.
Finding the National Average for Food for One Person

Questions 5, 6, and 7 will require you to search for the national average for food for one person. Remember to use a scholarly site for information.

List the website(s) you visited here: http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/Publications/FoodPlans/2012/CostofFoodJan2012.pdf http://www.loweryourspending.com/average-cost-for-food-per-month-for.one .person.html .com 5. (3 points): What was the national average for food for a month for one person, one year ago from the date the class started? Use the average for a 35-year-old male, and if multiple figures are given for that gender and age, use the highest number.
National average for food for a month for one person=287.00
Average for a 35 year old male is 292.30
6. (5 points): If this person lives in a state with a 7% sales tax on all food purchases, how much will they need to spend on food for one year?
\$287.00 * 0.07 =\$20.09
\$287+20.09=\$307.09
\$307.09 * 12 =\$3,685.08 a year

7. (5 points): Create an equation you could use to calculate the cost one person spends on food for a year (assume no tax on the food), using this site. Your equation must work for any age range, and any gender now.
Essay Question
(15 points)
8. Using the internet, find a website where a linear equation is used. Using that website as a source, write a ¾ - 1 page essay response in which you discuss how the equation was used, if it was used correctly, and what solutions to the equation mean (in other words, why are you using the equation in the first place? What is the solution supposed to tell you once you find it).
A linear equation is a mathematical expression that has an equal sign and linear expressions. A linear expression is a mathematical statement that performs functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. When solving a linear equation, there are steps to follow that will get you to the correct answer. Once you solve for the variable, always plug that number back into the equation to check for accuracy. Let’s try an example and work through the linear equation together by following these steps. Find x if: 2x+4=10. The first step is to isolate “x” to one side of the equation by subtracting 4 from both sides. 2x+4-4=10-4, which you give you 2x=6. The next step is to get the x by itself by dividing both sides by 2. 2x/2=6/2 and that leaves us with x=3. The final step is to plug the 3 into the x variable to make sure we have the correct answer.

#### Introduction to Management Unit 2

...Rendering to the video and the material that I have read about in this unit I see that each theory presents itself different in their own way. Starting with the classical approach the management is the highest chain of command. With that being said, it combines the scientific and the administrative management. Scientific management is there to recover the efficiency of work. The Administrative management approach focuses on the coordination of the workings of an entire organization. The classical theory has the assumption that work is a rational undertaking that is done just to make money. The behavioral approach stresses understanding the importance of people’s needs and attitudes within the formal organization. This approach is also used for management so that they can understand the importance of the workers and their needs and their attitudes within the formal organization. The third approach is the systems approach. This approach uses organizations as sets of interrelated parts to be managed as a whole with the purpose of achieving one main goal. This organization consists of transformation processes, inputs and outputs, and feedback. The last and final theory is the contingency approach. This approach emphasizes identifying the key variable in each situation and understanding the relationships among the variables. It also recognizes the causes and effects of managerial decisions. The contingency approach is the result of the systems approach. Implementing a little...

#### Unit 2 Research Asignment 2

...Unit 3 Research Assignment I’d say that the SQL Server database-naming convention makes the most sense to me. The database name accurately reflects the database content and all database names must be prefixed with the originating components acronym. The file names match the database name and the table names should accurately reflect the table’s content and function. Each column name must be unique within its table. Guidelines and best practices should be followed as a general rule, but it is understood that exception situations may exist. Developers must be prepared to provide a justification for any exceptions. There are no right and wrong answers for naming conventions as far as I am concerned. It’s all down to factors such as existing naming conventions in your applications and personal preference. I think the most important rule to adhere to is to be consistent. People may argue about whether to have underscores in object names or whether you should have proper case but it doesn't really matter as long as everything adheres to the same set of rules. If you have an existing set of objects then I'd suggest trying to match what is already in place. Of course, it’s also good to ensure names are logical! Also called an entity-relationship (ER) diagram, a graphical representation of entities and their relationships to each other, typically used in computing in regard to the organization of data within databases or information systems. An entity is a piece of data-an......

#### Unit 2 Asignment 2

...Unit 2 Assignment 1 Blank Answer Sheet Name: Date: Electronics ET2530 Chapter 2 (pp. 111-113) 2. A 1500 kHz carrier and a 2 kHz intelligence signal are combined in a non-linear device. List all the frequency components produced. - 1498, 1500, and 1520KHz 3.If a carrier is amplitude modulated what causes the sideband frequencies? - The non-linear mixing of the carrier and intelligence frequencies.
4.What determines the bandwidth of emission for an AM transmission? - It is twice the frequency of the highest audio frequency transmitted. The upper sideband is fc +FM where fc is the carrier frequency and FM is the modulation (audio) frequency .The lower sideband is fc – FM. The total bandwidth is 2*FM 5.Explain the difference between a sideband and a side frequency. - A sideband carries the modulation or "information". in old fashioned AM and FM transmission schemes, a carrier is broadcast in addition to the sideband(s). Only the sideband is needed to communicate. A spurious frequency that happens when a carrier is transmitted has no added "information" and just adds to the transmission bandwidth. Sometimes these occur by intermixing within the transmitter. a common example is CB splatter from overdrive of RF amps.
9.Draw a diagram (or indicate which text book Figure # shows this) of a carrier wave envelope when modulated by 50% by a sinusoidal wave. Indicate on the diagram the dimension from which the percentage of modulation is......

...Unit 2: Business Resources P6 Introduction In this task I will illustrate the use of budgets as a means of exercising financial control of east ham shipping. Fixed cost Fixed costs are the expenses that do not change regardless of the activity of a business. For example Eastham shipping has to pay rent and utility bills and all of their overheads regardless of sales or profit. Variable cost Variable costs are costs that can change depending on the activity of the business such as production volume and sales. An example for east ham shipping may be the cost of their fuel. Since fuel prices change due to supply and demand this can be a variable cost. Fuel usage can increase or decrease due to the amount times East ham shipping has to ship Items. Semi variable cost Semi-variable costs are made up of different fixed and variable components. Semi-variable costs are fixed for a certain limit of production or consumption once this limit has been exceeded the cost then becomes a variable. Step cost A step cost is a fixed cost within certain limits. Step costs are expenses that stay the same until a level of activity has been reached. For example if in East Ham shipping employee receives between zero and a certain amount of orders to process then the company will only need one employee. However if this limit is exceeded then East ham shipping will need to hire an extra employee A budget is a plan of expenditure usually tied to a fixed period of time as well as......

With this in mind more and more focus has been put on strategy and properly learning how to use it appropriately in business world. Strategy is significant in business because it can make or break a business, if a company has a poor plan it can fail but if the same company has the same product but a different strategy it can succeed. The company not only needs to have a strategy but they cannot build a great strategy without first starting with a vision, mission, purpose and maybe some small goals to achieve within the first year to five years. Visions are important because it energizes and gives a future to the company, while the mission of the company is there to tell customer what their purpose is for and what they are they to provide as a product or service and gives the company a goal to achieve and work towards as well. Not only in these statements that management and owners work hard to put together for corporations and business but they provide the direction and the beginning stages of the strategy of the business. #### Unit 2 - Starting a Business

..."We're Moving On Up" Mike and Earl Moore, owners of College Men's Unlimited, have just signed a 5-year lease in the new College Town Mall. The new mall is ideally located for their business—a short walk from campus and only two blocks from downtown. The far side of the mall is bounded by the most prestigious homes in the city. It will be opening in 5 weeks, and Mike and Earl are lucky to have such a prime spot. Ray Thomas, their banker, called them last Wednesday with word that the store, which had agreed to take the space they just leased, had canceled. Eighteen months ago when the mall had put this location up for lease, they were not in financial condition to make a commitment. In the last 18 months, however, business has been exceptional. The city has grown, and the college has experienced expanded enrollments. By next Monday morning, Mike and Earl must provide the mall developer with a complete layout for their new store so the developer can assign an emergency work crew to complete the store for the grand opening. College Men's Unlimited is a full-line men's store offering middle- to upper-quality traditional men's wearing apparel. The present location is an old two-story house that Mike and Earl converted into their combination business and living area. The house has 4,000 square feet of area, 3,600 being used for the store, and the rest for a 3-room apartment. The new store has a 40-foot front and is 70 feet deep. The mall developer is willing to put up walls......
