A Marxist View on the charactersof “A Doll house”

If you want a literary piece that will surely intrigue your mindset towards your financial status while entertaining you with their different perspective in dreaming of being rich in their society, this is the play for you. In Henrik’s Ibsen’s Marxist novel “A Doll House” the characters suffers from the prejudices and strictures of their capitalists community, this inevitable factors in this kind of society affects their living and they are often undermined by those struggles. The portrayal of the Nora, Torvald, Kristine, Krogstad, Anna-Marie and Dr. Rank shows a Marxist perspective of life. Nora’s way of thinking is predominated by her obsessions to material wealth and her eagerness to be financial stable. The story begins with Nora is just returning home after a shopping trip, she enters the apartment with an “armload of packages”(43) and she is followed by a boy carrying a Christmas tree then, when his husband Torvald enters she immediately asks for money in order for her to “hang the bills in gilt paper” as Christmas tree decorations (45).Nora didn’t want anyone to see their Christmas tree until it is not fully decorated by luxurious presents because Nora wants to boast that his husband found a new stable job. Nora administered the decoration of the tree, she spent a great amount to show to their neighbors that they are now financially stable. Now, that Nora belongs to a higher class of the society she practically throws money away. She tells the delivery boy to keep the change from the crown she gave him, paying him twice what he asks. She ignores the fact that Torvald’s income is not yet enough. She insists that the raise of Torvald won’t come into effect for another three months, Nora argues that “we can borrow until then”(44).Torvald is much more careful when he spends money, but he also bases his

The following recommendations are found: • Enter Denmark through direct export and focus on AffaldVarme Århus, Forbrændingsanlægget REFA, Roskilde Forbrænding and I/S vestforbrænding first, because they are open to new technology’s and responded quickly. Focus on persons who make (big) investment decisions, analysed in table 14 and sell the AmS 8** coating through personal selling. • Develop references for potential customers by providing current customers with small samples. These samples provide knowledge about the product and wordof-mouth can distribute this knowledge into the market. • Use trade shows and seminars to build awareness, show references, meet new customers and maintain your relationships with current customers. Listen to your heart there's nothing else you can do. I don't know where you're going and I don't know why, but listen to your heart before you tell him goodbye. And there are voices that want to be heard. So much to mention but you can't find the words. The scent of magic, the beauty that's been when love was wilder than the wind. ...ingested the bubbly substance. “Quite the thirst quencher.” I thought as I prepared myself to order after Rita, she spoke with much enthusiasm, “I’ll have a 9 ounce New York strip, cooked medium-rare with a side of mac and cheese and potatoes.. Please.” Buck nodded towards me after he jotted down her order. “I’ll have the same.” I stated, trying to sound just as enthusiastic. “I’ll-a get a wiggle on with ya’lls order, now ya hear?” We began enticed in our conversations of drama, school and work and before we even knew it, our captivating meals were placed in front of us. My heart palpitated while I took my knife in hand and sliced into the tenderized steak, the drum rolled in the back of my head while I prepared to taste a meal fit for a king. “Mmmmmm..” A very palatable meal! I savored every bite, the meat almost melted in my mouth, every bite was bursting with flavor! The meal couldn’t have been more perfect, it was like I raised the cattle, went out and slaughtered the cattle, prepped it and cooked it all to perfection just for myself. I engorged myself in this spectacular meal like it was the last meal I was ever going to eat. I only paused for just a minute to see how grandma and Rita were enjoying their meals, they were just as content as I was, completely indulged in their own world. As all our plates were coming to an end, Buck swaggered his way back over to our table. “How’s y'all's chow?” Buck snickered while he looked at our empty plates and set down the check. “Your food...

My Reflections

...My Reflections on Counseling Counseling Reflection I have to say that before this experience, the longest counseling session I had with any client was only 10 minutes long, and even with that I would use the word success loosely . Therefore, after discovering that we would be having a 30 minute session with a new client, I became extremely anxious. A tornado of worries swept through my mind, “What if I say something wrong? What if the client says nothing? What if the strategy I go in with doesn’t work? And what can we talk about for 30 minutes?” But, as those worries sprang to life, I remembered some wise advice that helped alleviate my anxiety. Within the assigned readings for my psychology class, I have learned that in order to succeed you have to fail, and that I believe goes with everything in life. As blunt as that may sound, it is an accurate statement in regards to becoming a counselor. I will not instantly become a great counselor and I will inevitably fail and make many of mistakes during my training, but these mistakes will help pave my way towards becoming a successful counselor. Prior to beginning my 30 minute counseling session, I repeated this phrase over and over again while practicing some deep breathing to calm myself down. This mind set and relaxation process helped me appear calm and collected, even though on the inside I was a nervous mess. After a few moments of pulling myself together, I began the counseling...

...Roman Holiday PART 1 ROMAN HOLIDAY TRANSCRIBED BY Graham (hepburn@unforgettable.com) (A newsreel begins:) --PARAMOUNT NEWS-- NEWS FLASH (A commentator describes the newsreel showing Princess Ann at several ceremonies in various European locations.) NEWSREEL Paramount News brings you a special coverage of Princess Ann's visit to London, the first stop on her much publicised goodwill tour of European capitals. She gets a royal welcome from the British as thousands cheer the gracious young member of one of Europe's oldest ruling families. After three days of continuous activity and a visit to Buckingham Palace, Ann flew to Amsterdam where Her Royal Highness dedicated the new International Aid Building and christened an ocean liner. Then went to Paris where she attended many official functions designed to cement trade relations between her country and the Western European nations. And so to Rome, the eternal city, where the Princess' visit was marked by a spectacular military parade highlighted by the band of the crack Piersa Yeri Regiment. The smiling young Princess showed no sign of the strain of the week's continuous public appearances. And at her country's embassy that evening, a formal reception and ball in her honor was given by her country's ambassador to Italy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (The Embassy ballroom. Gabriel's Inferno

...Prologue Florence, 1283 The poet stood next to the bridge and watched as the young woman approached. The world ground to a near standstill as he remarked her wide, dark eyes and elegantly curled brown hair. At first he didn’t recognize her. She was breathtakingly beautiful, her movements sure and graceful. Yet there was something about her face and figure that reminded him of the girl he’d fallen in love with long ago. They’d gone their separate ways, and he had always mourned her, his angel, his muse, his beloved Beatrice. Without her, his life had been lonely and small. Now his blessedness appeared. As she approached him with her companions, he bowed his head and body in a chivalrous salute. He had no expectation that his presence would be acknowledged. She was both perfect and untouchable, a browneyed angel dressed in resplendent white, while he was older, world-weary and wanting. She had almost passed him when his downcast eyes caught sight of one of her slippers — a slipper that hesitated just in front of him. His heart beat a furious tattoo as he waited, breathless. A soft and gentle voice broke into his remembrances as she spoke to him kindly. His startled eyes flew to hers. For years and years he’d longed for this moment, dreamed of it even, but never had he imagined encountering her in such a serendipitous fashion. And never had he dared hope he would be greeted so sweetly. Caught off balance, he mumbled his pleasantries and allowed himself the indulgence of a smile...
