Managers should always work to maximize those individuals within the company with the greatest knowledge in a particular field of study. By including these individuals in meetings, conference calls and important decision making will prove to have a better outcome for that manager. These individuals can provide valuable insight on various subject matters. Many times managers will find utilizing these individuals will put their company in a better position and ahead of their competition. The manager I would hope to be is one that is a team player. Being a team player, makes your employees feel like everyone is in together. I want to be the manager who is committed to working with a team of people for the overall improvement of the entire team. Showing my team of employees that I am interested and in growing the company because in the end will not only benefit myself but everyone involved. I also want to be the manager who everyone can feel like they can trust and depend on to get things accomplished on a timely basis. Having an optimistic and positive attitude is also an important characteristic for a manager to have each day. Possessing this upbeat attitude will keep employee morale up and the company moving forward. I don’t expect to become a manager directly out of college, because being a manager takes time to build up too. However, when I do become a manager I would hope that during my career I have developed the necessary strong leadership skills that are needed to lead a strong team of people. Some of those skills would include, having the confidence and experience to be a good public speaker, someone who can delegate tasks accordingly. Finally, I want to be that manager that does not micro-manage his employees and shows his employees the trust in their abilities to get the job
