Out of the twelve techniques for improving my creative abilities my current strengths are being open and receptive to ideas, keep abreast in my field, adopt a risk taking attitude and keeping a sense of humor.

I feel that my creative abilities help me find the best solution to the problems I encounter by me being open and receptive to new ideas. I feel that it helps me find a better way to the solution to my problems because I have a broader outlook on certain situations. I have more knowledge because I feel that staying abreast on my field help because when end users ask me questions or having issues with documenting on a patients chart I am able to solve the problems because I stayed abreast on new information in my field. I feel that adopting a risk taking attitude also help with solving problems because I wouldn’t be nervous or timid when certain situation occur and I will know how to handle myself. I think by having a sense of humor shows your personality through different problems or situations that may occur in your life. Having a sense of humor always brings down stress during a problem and gives you a chance to really look at things in a bigger prospective.
A creative ability I would like to improve on is keeping track of my ideas at all times. The technique I would use to improve that ability is by keeping a journal. That way I can keep track of my ideas and revisit if necessary. Another creative ability I would like to improve on is avoiding rigid, set patterns of doing things. The technique I would use to improve this ability is finding more than one way to solve a problem. Sometimes certain situations need to be addressed differently than just one way. By obtaining this strength it’s allowing you to think outside the box. I feel that if these would have been my current strengths I could have had a lot more goals

Mother Board

...Motherboard Replacement When replacing the Motherboard, the first step that needs to be done is to disconnect all connections between the motherboard and all other components in the computer case. It is a good idea to ground yourself to avoid electrical shock; this can also be accomplished by touching the metal edge of the computer case, antistatic wrist strap, and antistatic floor mat. Once properly grounded, we can begin removal of the motherboard by disconnecting the power, and removing data cables from the hard drive. The second step is to extract all of the PCI adapters and the video card. Keep in mind that each of the adapters attached to the motherboard are secured by a single screw on the back rail of the case. Place these screws in a container to prevent loss of the screws. Handle the adapters by the metal brackets while removing them. Now it is time to begin removing the data cables. While using both hands to disconnect the data cables, hold it as close to the connector as possible while removing it to reduce likelihood of damage to the ribbon cable. Some cables have a pull loop or tab to ease in cable removal. If so, use them to help remove the data cable with ease. The last set of connectors that have to be removed are the front panel leads, which attach to the motherboard. This includes LED’s, case speaker, and the power switch. These connectors are fairly easy to remove for the most part. Once all of the connectors have been disconnected and all the...

Mother To Son

...two poems such as “Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes or “Hold Fast Your Dreams” by Louis Driscoll will be a welcoming motivation to get back up. A theme, or universal message, for “Mother to Son” is to never give up while the theme for “Hold Fast Your Dreams” is to hold onto your dreams as the title suggests. At the beginning, a mother addresses her son and goes on to explain her hardships in life using symbols such as “tacks, [a]nd splinters, [a]nd boards torn up...” (Hughes 1, 3-6). Gary Gilmore's Childhood

...It is important to remember that oftentimes family has a great impact on who a child becomes as they age. Gary Gilmore was brought up by a dysfunctional family. His family had a rather corrupted history. Both his mother and father did not have the greatest life as young children, and this reflected when they had children of their own. As a younger child and as a young woman, Bessie would often make sure to violate the rules her parents had in their home by coming home late, kissing boys, and buying an Ouija Board. Bessie and her mother would continuously argue, and her father had a short temper himself (although he took a particular liking to Bessie). Also, Bessie’s parents did not approve of Frank as he was much older than she was. Frank,...

Olsen’s “I Stand Here Ironing”

...conditions that the mother faced, deprived her child of the needed attention and love that children deserve. The mother who is the narrator is the protagonist. The story begins as the mother is ironing and talking on the phone with an unknown school official, most likely a school counselor or teacher, about her daughter’s performance or lack thereof. The official wishes to speak with Emily’s mother who obviously feels there is no need for a face-to-face meeting. The mother seems caught in an internal conflict with herself as she tells the story of Emily from birth until now. The narrator was a young mother, only 19 when she had Emily; she was abandoned by the father who was too overwhelmed to care for a family. Emily was left in the care of a neighbor while the mother worked, a neighbor according to the mother “to whom she was no miracle at all” (Charters, 2011, p. 689). Emily eventually was sent to live with her father’s family where she contracted chicken pox that left her scarred. When her mother went to retrieve her she was a different child, not the beautiful child her mother remembered, when she saw her she said that “all the baby loveliness gone” (p. 690), she compared her walk and her thin frame to her father. As Emily moved from many different schools, she made excuses not to go, there were never protests, just excuses about her being sick, or her mother looking sick, the teachers being sick, or the school was closed for a holiday. Although the mother knew these were...

Vod - the Starfish Effect

...mistake. He shift his weight just a bit to far off the center of the board again. There was no mistaking it, he was going under whether he tried to stop it or not. He only had a second to fix it, or two if he was lucky. Dane tried to adjust just a little back toward the center of the board. Too much and he would throw his balance off the other direction. It was difficult to judge how far to move when you are ducked down low inside the swell of a wave. He tried to concentrate on enjoying the moment of riding inside a great wave like this, while still adjusting. For a moment it was perfect, then he felt the board fish-tail as he overshot his adjustment. The world flipped upside down and took a quick breath before going under the wave. The strength of the wave was much greater than his, and it rolled him under the water for a few seconds as the full wave passed him. He couldn't tell which direction to swim for a moment, but he quickly noticed the feel of the line attached to his ankle pulling telling him where his board was floating on the surface. Coming to the surface, he shook the water from his face and grabbed his board for support. Damn, he thought, I nearly had that one perfect. Shaking his head again, he climbed onto his board and started to paddle in. He could see his younger brother on shore waving him in; probably to tell him he was late for dinner again. As he reached shore, he stood and held his board under his arm. He brother walked over with the all too familiar...

When Schools Became Integrated

...of a TV shop, my mother took me by the hand and walked over to the group. I grabbed my mother's arm and asked her what happened, she did not say anything she just kept looking. I pushed myself past some people and finally came in front. I looked over and saw that there was a television on, it was news. I could not really hear what was said. I looked behind me and tried to find my mother. When I finally found her, she had a different facial expression. She looked happier before, I do not know what happened. I went to my mother and asked her "mom mom what happened, something wrong?” She looked down at me and smiled wryly, it was not a real smile. I could look at her that she was worried. Without saying anything, my mom took me by the hand and we went home. I could not help but think of my mother's worrying face. Now it was evening my father had just returned. During dinner, there was silence. I looked over at my father over to my mother, they both had the same facial expressions, and the same facial expression as my mother had had earlier in the day. But none of them said anything. After dinner, my mother said that I have to bathe and go to bed. After a while I could hear some sounds. I went out of my bed and to the door, I opened the door and saw my mother and father. They stood and talked.
