Professor Stephen MersereauMotivation is essential in any workplace environment. Most teams could complete tasks assigned to them without any hesitation because of that inward “motivation”, which is dedicated to them from their leaders and managers. Looking at each DISC assessment from my fellow team members, motivation for each individual alongside the assessment chart differs. Each team member is motivated by different qualities and traits of the working environment. Tapping into motivational aspects could bring about success to each individual within the organization, which will create job satisfaction with their accomplishments and performance. The main ingredient to motivation is having the ability to find what pushes each individual to perform at their best.
We are currently using a DISC assessment, which was constructed to give people a thorough look into their behavior as it relates to their work ethics. Most of the behavioral styles repeatedly help to lead employees through their everyday routines. In my group learning team D, the member’s styles consisted of several common styles. A few are considered doers while the others are assessors. Our group has various motivational components that is considered being their method for success. Utilizing these components accurately will allow each team member to bring about productivity and success when properly used. Team members that are producers perform at their best when in charge or delegating managerial task to other individuals within the group. This motivates them by seeing others fulfilling a certain task. Assessors on the other hand feel proficient by the work that is completed. The more accurate the work is performed means the more they feel successful in their role.
I have a mentor that is totally awesome she works in role as a supervisor for Instructional Facilitator for the Dept. of Psychology in Howard County Public Schools. Sally also supervises Student Services, and The Department of Psychology Services. This organization provides free public education to all students in the community. Sally’s main role is to focus on the 504 plan that she coordinates in making sure students with disabilities are provided access to special educational needs if they qualify. A big portion of her job relates to clinical judgement and how she needs to look out for the district as a whole.
Analyzing the learning team members’ motivational triggers are essential to the success of the team. If the rate of success increases, team members are more likely to be motivated to achieve and reach new goals and agenda’s. The self-assessment grid, has several different components that affect the person attitudes, values and emotions toward motivation. Some team members are merely motivated for completing their work on time efficiently and effectively. Other team members may be motivated by creating task for other team members. It is necessary to achieve the right form of success that will drive and motivate each person in becoming successful in the organization.
Establishing a plan that may be applied to your mentor's department that would increase your Learning Team members' motivation, satisfaction, and performance based on their personal profiles, as if they were employees of that department could possibly influence positive behaviors. Individuals with creative ideas, goals and talents, often share at least one common goal, and that is to perform the job well enough not to be terminated. Team members often develop attitudes toward certain situations, which can play a crucial role in how they deal with issues that can pop up at any time. These sort of feelings and emotions are most common in the workplace or any organization. It is important to turn ill feelings into positive outcomes. Some team members may be unsatisfied with their positions, this can cause individuals to become unmotivated and uninterested. Continue to provide workers a chance to voice their concerns and issues, which are most valuable in any corporation. Many instances, personalities will not mesh. Dividing certain individuals with similar personalities from frequently working together, could lower the chance of failures and disasters from occurring from team members. Emotions can be very tricky within the workplace. Emotions are normally quick to occur in any situation. At any given moment a team member can be happy and love their working experience, and the next moment, it can turn into a disaster. Providing situational therapy will grant them a chance to rearrange their emotions if they aren’t happy or satisfied. Providing this current motivation plan will be helpful in building success on a performance based level that will be able to gratify each member of the learning team. Understanding each individual assessment, makes it easier to understand the level of motivation that is needed for each team member to fully tap into their potential. It takes to address their differences, but when figuring out the measures correctly, the potential for each attitude, emotion, and value will be able to line up in order for success to be at the forefront of the team’s focal point.
