A song that I thought to be truly Southern is the song called “Song of the South” by a southern band named Alabama. There is a part in this song that talk about how The Great Depression had affected the South: “Well somebody told us wall street fell But we were so poor that we couldn’t tell. The cotton was short, and the weeds was' tall. But Mr. Roosevelt's a' gonna save us all.” Also while listening to this song I heard the singer singing “Gone, gone with the wind” which it reminded me of the movie that was based here in the South during the times of the civil war. Another thing this song talk about is sweet potato pie which is a very famous thing here in the south. Also cotton-picking is mentioned which is also something people here in the
