In the book, Maniac Magee Jerry Spinelli uses descriptive details, dialogue, actions, and thoughts to develop Mrs. Beal’s character trait to be that she is patient with kids. There was one part in the book where Mrs. Beal cleaned off the T.V screen from Hester and Lester's crayoning. This shows her being patient because she did not yell at them, she was patient enough to see if they’d do it again; then she would yell at them because they saw her put in the hard work and they did it again. The second way I know Mrs. Beal was patient was when she let Maniac stay with her. This was patient because she did not know if he was a bad kid or not. If he would make messes or not.
