Developing intelligent systems, innovating tomorrow's technology today and writing complex algorithms are some of the things I envision doing in the future. My life time goal is to run my own successful venture in a high-end
STEM specialization. This being my professional goal, I want to spend time with friends and family in a happy environment, unwinding in my free time doing things that I enjoy doing.

Science and technology has always interested me and the basic sciences were my favourite subjects throughout middle school. I have undertaken various projects and represented my school in various interschool exhibitions and workshops. The projects I presented at two such workshops include: the prospects of using

Independent of school, I attended various Robotics workshops. In one of these, at Ark technologies, I used Embedded C and understood how programs send signals to a robot at the click of a few buttons and how that brught about physical movements in machines. These projects and experiences have fortified my interest in computer science applications. Therefore I intend to pursue a BS in Computer sciences or in a related engineering domain.

I have also had various experiences that have helped shape my personality and thinking. At Bombay Scottish, I have been a part of the student council for three years, I was the school Vice-captain and the MacGregor House Vice-captain in standards Ten and Nine, respectively. I learnt a lot from these experiences. I was exposed to many new situations, as a leader, organiser, participant, when I gave speeches for numerous events, participated in the organisation of various competitions and chaired several school events. I also enjoyed starting up and leading the community services project and faced few difficult situations too.
However, I am happy that we could work towards their sustainable

Students did not look in their direction, therefore they felt alienated from the school’s mainstream.

I began the project to restore the staff’s self-respect; help them live respectable lives in last year’s April vacations. With the help of a few friends, I initiated the project to teach the support-staff every Saturday. We formulated the course content and a time-table and started the project with twenty student volunteers; teaching for three hours, every week. Everyone was enthusiastic at the start and the initiative carried on well for a few months.

However, the project started losing momentum, the staff and volunteers’ interest began waning, attendance became irregular, as everyone was bored and preferred to do other things on Saturdays. I started feeling that I was the only one interested in the project and was failing to convert my interest into the group’s purpose. Retaining the support staff’s attention was becoming difficult, people were coming late and once, a few volunteers even preferred to go to the school football field, instead of coming to teach. I was getting concerned and started discussions on how to revive the project.

Then I came up with an idea, to merge two of my greatest interests,

Many Many Sops

...collection of lots of sops of lots of seniors. Browse. According to whacko. (Addressed to our batch) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As for SOPs, don't worry too much. All of you have good writing skills. Anyway, my advice on this matter is: [1] Have a look at some SOPs *now* or early next SEM. [2] When it's time to write your own SOP, do it *fully* by yourself. Do not look at anybody else's SOP. [3] Having made version 1.0 of your SOP, *now* take a look at as many SOPs as you can of guys in your area. Borrow points from then which you think are good. [4] Your SOP does not have to be too big. We at IITB tend to write long SOPs (1.5 to 2 pages) whereas IITM guys (who get better schools!)Usually write 0.75 page (max. 1 page). Basically, their SOPs are much more direct and to-the-point than ours. [5] REMEMBER THAT A SOP *MUST* BE ORIGINAL. Statement of Purpose I am applying to Stanford University for admission to the Ph.D. program in Computer Science. As has been noted throughout my research, there has been a decline in technology majors throughout the past couple of years, thus affecting the job market. The survey that was conducted on high school seniors, as well as research done by some universities, has proven that lack of information and interest affects this type of career choice. By properly informing potential technology students and offering them resources, we can better equip our future system and network administrators to perform to their potential. I first involved myself in working with cameras and fixing them for several customers. The satisfying knowledge that I gained came from realizing that I could take apart, fix a piece of technology and do it well. Computers as a hobby came only after my brother gave me one to fix and keep for my use. Although I was daunted at first, I took apart and drew diagrams, to remember where the components where located. I had no previous experience from computers that I had learned...

...Computer science is challenging, and yet dynamic. It requires people in the field to keep learning and pushing the limit. That fast-pacing innovation of technology never stops amazing me, which excites my innate curiosity even more. I, however, had never thought about pursuing computer science as a career until I took an AP Computer Science class in my senior year. It sparked my interest and changed my thoughts after seeing what I could do with some simple line of codes. Despite many countless times staring into the monitor trying to figure out how to solve a problem, those “Aha” moments were more precious and exciting for me. For every minute like that, I was exhilarating and smiled as if I have just won an Olympics’ gold medal in a 100-meter racing swim lap. It fed my hunger for exploration to see what else I could do, maybe something beyond my imagination. Computer science gradually became my hobby in my senior year. I searched many online resources to finally find CodingBat, which allowed me to expand my Java knowledge. These experiences slowly pulled me into the course of a new career, computer science, and at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro pursuing a degree in computer science can provide me knowledge and skills to bring change to people’s daily lives starting from mobile application. I want to be a part of this evolution of technology and I hope to meet other creative, friendly, and ambitious people. My dream is to start my own business partnership......
