Im studying at Forth Valley College, Stirling Campus. My theme is to create an image based on an 18th century theme, the image i am trying to achevie throughout this course is the same sort of style and look as Marie Antoinette.

Women wore very long dresses, the dresses they wore were the total look going from head to toe. They also wore very big, fancy and fashionable hats almost all the time especially when they left to go outside, also they wore very big and fashionable wigs. They wore petticoats to go underneath their gowns to make them look more puffy and fashionable and even to give them a little more warmth. 18th century fashion was very fashionable and elegant, mostly ever women in the 18th century looked and took very good care of themselfs and there appearance.Women of the 18th Century usually wore their natural hair, although this hair was often done up with pads and/or pinned on extensions. In the early 18th century women were still wearing the high piled "fontage" on/for their hair. Most women usually wore hats on top of their hair and even some feathers stuck in their hair aswell.

All the research i found i got off of the internet at college and the 18th century booklet given out in college aswelll. I wanted to find out all about the 18th century and what they wore, dressed like, looked like and what they used to do their hair and make up. I also wanted to know the dangers and problems they went through bascially ever day to look as good as they did, as some women did put their self in danger due from clothing being too tight and very uncomfortable. Even though they were in pain they did not let that stop them from carrying on and looking fashionable throughout the years.

My look is going to be based on Marie Antoniette. I am going to try and achieve this look by firstly adding a bit of very white face paint or a very light and white foundation, i am then going to dust baby powder all over my models face and neck to show how white their make up was and the inpact it gives, and so that the face and neck is a very pale colour. I'm going to make the eye brows stand out and make them a black or a brown colour to make my models eyes stand out alot. I am then going to put lip liner on the lips and make sure that the chosen lip colour willl be a bright red so that it stands out and is very effective against the white skin. I will also be doing the cheeks a very dark/red colour blending it in very well to achieve the flawless look and to make the cheek bones stand out and look nice. I might add a very big flower in the middle of the hair or some feathers to complete the 18th century look.

For my look i will need to bring in an accessorie for my models hair preferably a flower or some big feathers that stand out and look fashionable. I am going to go about creating this look by firsty starting by doing my models hair as it will take alot of time and effort acheving this look, i will then start with doing the make up, adding the white fondation or white paint and doing the eyes a natural colour but still making them look effective and eye catching and then i will start on the lips, out lining them and then colouring them in red which will draw attention to them. I do not want the make up to looking to over the top, i want it too look effective and draw attention but not to in you're face at the same time.

I looking forward to acheving this look on my model as i think i will be very fun to do and will teach me what women in the 18th century looked like and dressed like and i think Marie Antoinette is a great person to base the image on as her make up is pretty and sweet looking and her hair is very nice and big too.

My College Experience

...school, and High school prepares young adults for the work force or college. School is designed to prepare people for the next stage of their lives, I think of it as practice. I am in college to prepare for a career and not a job, my education is the difference between being happy with my work and working to live, as of now I am not fulfilling my duties as a student. I often ask myself why am I here, sometimes I ignore the question other times my answer varies from “to make your dad proud” or to “prove your mom wrong”. Neither of those answers is honest or is a product of consideration and deep thought. The actual reason why I’m here is because this is the only way I can get to where I want to be in life. I want to teach preschool and I am here to prepare and educate myself on what it takes to be an educator. I am going to be honest, I am a very lazy person and if I am going to work I want to be doing something that I actually enjoy doing. I want to live to work and not work to live. I don’t want to work hard at something and my only reward is the money at the end of the day, I want to go home and be proud of what I’ve spent my day doing. I feel like money is often mistaken with happiness so people worry less about what makes them happy than what makes them money. I can’t bring myself to do this so I am here to prepare myself for my future career and not my future job. I’m not going to say that my education means everything to me but it is very important. It is the...

My First Generation College Students

...Being raised by parents who are first generation college graduates allowed me to recognize the distinction between success and happiness from a young age. They adopted the belief early on in their lives that in order to be successful you must be diligent when fulfilling your responsibilities and that leisure may be appreciated only after such responsibilities were satisfied. They are both educated and industrious, but growing up I often overheard them complaining about their careers and the challenges it imposed onto them. Both of them have been educators for both a public and private school system for more than twenty-five years. They always encouraged me to achieve my goals and pursue a career that I would enjoy just as they had, which seemed slightly hypocritical to me when I was younger because of how regularly I overheard them complaining to each other about their work. As I got older I learned that the source of their resentment came from all of the stressful elements of everyday life, as I had experienced more of these tribulations throughout the years. Despite...
