My Veiled Future

...Some people have their own dreams since they were young. And they are sure that they want those dreams to be their future. However, some people find their dreams after they have grown up. Most of the teenagers are still having numerous dream jobs in their mind. Most of them not sure of what they want to be but they knew where they want to be. They want to live without worries , and live happily in the future. For me, as a 17-years-old student, my only aim for now is to pass my O'level with good grades so that i can get into the course that i want. Even though my mind has been wavering with a lot of thoughts and people's 'suggestion'. It is really hard for me to stick on one dream as i am easily influenced by other people. I wanted to be a business woman when i was young because i saw a movie about a successful business woman and i thought she was cool. After a while, i wanted to be an engineer like my father, a hotel owner after i visited to a grand hotel as i thought it would be awesome and a ballet dancer when i saw a Hong Kong movie about a beautiful ballet dancer. As i grew up i had more and more dreams. I wanted to be spy, detective, singer, and lastly architecture. American Dream

...American Dream: It is a well-known fact that the term “American Dream” first mentioned by James Trusslow Adams in 1931 (Wright 197) explains the model of an individual’s ideal existence, which is applied exclusively to the US – the country full of freedoms, possibilities, and opportunities. Nowadays the fame about the American dream reached all continents, and more and more people take the concept for granted dreaming about moving to America and spending the rest of their lives in a more favourable environment compared to their own. As many US citizens, they usually ignore the fact that hard work has always served as a background in the given concept (Warschauer) and look forward to gain all amenities of existence at once. Now I would like to express my commitment to the idea of American dream and briefly describe my negative work experience. Some may think of this experience as of something providing a push toward the perspective future, some may not agree. In any case, this is our contemporary reality that forms our perceptions of what we pursue and what we would like to achieve. Some years ago, I spent my summer vacations working as a sales assistant in a large food store that offered a full range of products. I was responsible for the department mostly with fresh and frozen meat. My duties included cutting, chopping, wrapping, and placing labels on the products, each specifying the product type. My uniform was pretty awkward: a green T-shirt and a white overall that......

My Dreams

...Everyone has their own dreams. No matter big or small, each and everyone of us has one. Dreams are something we can fathom, anything our heart desires, anything at all. In life, we were told to pursue our dreams, by our parents, our teachers, and also our friends. To others, my dreams seemed unreal. Just aimless thoughts in my mind. But to me, my dreams are what I want to be in the future because I know, there is no limit to a dream. Initially, like any other little kids, I wanted to be what everyone wants to be. During that time, everyone wanted to be a policeman. I consider it a very noble job for someone to do because it involves the safety of people around them. But nevertheless, that dream did not went on for long. As I grew up, I knew more about dreams and ambition. From that point of my life, I told myself to have a dream which I would put effort to achieve it. Because dreams are what you want to be in the future. So, I decided to set my goals and put in my best efforts. I wanted to be a pilot. Because since I was a small young boy, i was already in love with aviation. I was amazed by the fact that some metal based structure could soar high in the skies. As i grew up, i knew i wanted to be a part of it. Because my mother used to tell me that it is easier to wake up to something you love or enjoy doing. But unfortunately, I did not meet the requirements to being a pilot. But that did not stop me. One way or another, I still wanted to be involved in aviation. So i......

Why in College

...Timoria Morgan English Comp 1 Mr. McDonald January 30, 2014 My reasons to be in college are probably just like anyone else. My two main reason for be in college is that I wanted my dream job of becoming a teacher and to get the whole college experience. Since I did not really have that whole high school experience, so this was my chance, to make up for it. A job can be simply defined as a regular activity performed in exchange for payment. I believe that today you have to be extremely gifted at a job in order to be able to stay with it your entire working career. Nowadays many people are thrown from job to job seeking stability in their lives. Almost everyone enters the workforce to try and provide whatever they can for their family. It’s hard to compete in today’s occupations with more and more people striving to get to the top, to be the boss with the newly remodeled home, 2.5 kids, golden retriever, cabin in the mountains, and Mercedes Benz. People feel a great achievement when they have reached the point where they can provide these material things to their families no matter how they do it or what they have to go through to get it, whether it be working long hours or cheating the stock market. Unfortunately it’s the same people who forget who got them to the point where they can afford their Mercedes Benz. I feel that credit should not only be given to family, friends, and pastors, rabbis or priests, but also to teachers. Any school could always use......

Personal Branding

...when it comes to competing for a job.  The time that I spent in the military is what I credit a large part of my work ethic to.  From Day one in the military you are required to do everything to the best of your ability and to continue to do so until the task is completed.  Even as a child, I was told that that if I say am going to do something or be somewhere, then I am to keep my word and follow through with every commitment.  Once again the military further hammered in that mindset and even introduced me to the phrase; “if you are 15 minutes early, you are on time.  If you are on time, you are late.”  Both of these influences have molded me to value the characteristic of being reliable not only by presence but by carrying my own weight as well.  The third trait that I feel solidifies my value as an employee is my ability to produce results.  Of course the first two characteristics play a role in my ability to get results but I have always had a competitive nature as well.  Coming from an athletic background and excelling at sports my whole life, I developed a hunger to be the best at whatever it was that I was doing.   If I were to make a list of dream companies that I would like to work for, the first job that would have to be at the top of the list would have to be working for the Phoenix Suns at a corporate level.  My first dream job that I ever remember having was to be a professional basketball player for the NBA and I kept that dream alive for about 25 years until I...

The Big 5 Personality Test

...the “American Dream”, which is in the back of every human’s mind no matter what they say. Everyone is wired in the world to say yes to be rich or wealthy because there is a lot more fun and things you can do with more money than with less, that’s just common knowledge. But for me my American Dream is not just a job, but a lifestyle that I want to strive for. My “American Dream” would be to have a very beneficially paying job and a supportive/loving family. A lot of people now-a-days think that money is the end all be all, when I reality it’s what you do with your time and money that make people better off. Specifically for me, I would love to work at a place like Google. The reason why is because Google was voted the most enjoyable place to work. The movie the “Internship” shows just exactly how well employees get treated and how much fun of an environment it is to be around. I feel like the happier and the more stimulated the environment is the harder the employees work. Google however is not my dream job. If I had to pick a job for life I would pick working at Apple’s Headquarters. Apple is a very successful company and I have heard nothing but good things about Apple products. The products they provide are everywhere you look. You could not walk into a college classroom without seeing one IPod, IPad, IPhone, or Apple computer. I picked that as my dream job because it only seems like they are expanding. Stability is the main focus for me when it comes to job hunting. The......
