As a student, I noticed that my age changes my needs and wants. As I grow older /I became more knowledgeable on selecting products that I will use, I actually search for the facts about the product before I buy to try it. Reading the facts of a product makes takes me so long in the store. I am also curious with new products especially when it looks so good so I try it sometimes. Companies have different target markets. Some focuses on their ages, genders, capability in buying, cultures and other factors that affect the products achieve their goals. Nowadays, there is a lot of products offered at the market and sometimes it quiet hard to choose a product because of the same identity but different brands. For me; Jansport, Sky Flakes Cracker, Bench/Fix Clay Doh, Vitamilk And Johnson’s Baby Bath Milk + Rice; these products appeals to me a lot, these were the best products for me as a student.
JanSport Super Break Pack is the best bag for me because it includes many useful and unique features compared to other brand. One of its features is its large main compartment that is perfect for storage of my school supplies and my gadgets also. It has padded shoulder straps and panel, which can carry extra weight. Now, other innovative features were added in the superbreak packs. JanSport is known as the staples in terms of durable and high standard backpacks. Though the price is not for a regular bag, consumers can assure that they can save a lot from because it is made by professionals to withstand the tests of time and they also offer a Lifetime Warranty. What about their age targeting? They usually make and offer it the market different sizes that suit to different age groups and different design to choose from. So, if you want to bring your world at school, only choose a bag that has great storage space and accessible pockets. However, there are numerous fake JanSport bags in the market today. So if you wish to have an original JanSport bag, you need to make sure you are only buying from authentic sellers and distributors. Next product is SKY FLAKES CRACKERS, I always keep it in my bag and in my locker at my dormitory. This is because I can’t tell when I’m going to need to eat, especially that I review and study my lessons in inconvenient hours. I also could not detect when I’m going to be stuck in traffic when I go home, and I might feel hungry in the middle of the street so I always bring crackers with me wherever I go. It appeals to me because it can really relieve the feeling of hunger. It does not have a strong smell or any kind of distinctive smell. It’s also good when you’re in a diet.it’s not salty nor sweet. It tastes just right. It’s a cracker that can be paired with a lot of other foods. It’s great for nutella, tuna spread, cheese, and many other sandwiches spreads. It does not have a strong smell or any kind of distinctive smell. It’s also good when you’re in a diet. it’s not salty nor sweet. It tastes just right. It’s a cracker that can be paired with a lot of other foods. It’s great for nutella, tuna spread, cheese, and many other sandwich spreads. I learned to love eating SkyFlakes crackers since I was a kid inherited to me by my grandmother. It’s also a cracker that is good for people in different ages. It’s not hard to chew it, so young children or old people can still eat it. It’s also a cracker that’s good even if you are sick. It’s okay for diabetics or if someone is suffering from LB. It’s inexpensive and it’s available in almost all groceries and even in small stores. When I was in elementary and high school, it was the best cracker for me as my daily “merienda/baon” every time I go to school. Now that I am already in college, skyflakes became substitute or alternative for my breakfast and a good snack food. My grocery is not complete without this cracker. Third is BENCH/FIX PROFESSIONAL CLAY DOH [Molding Clay]. I was used to style my hair since High School days, and I am using Gatsby hair wax or styling gel sometimes to fix my hair according to hairstyle I want. Every time I used these products I always noticed that my face gets oily especially at my forehead at noon or after the day and it does not hold the hairstyle I want to my hair for a very long time even I apply enough amount of hair wax or Gel, sometimes I apply more but it does not work still. After a few years, while searching for something to buy in a department store, and there I saw Fix Professional Clay Doh of Bench. I bought one item to try it to myself if it works because it seems more effective than Wax or Gel as the salesperson told me that time. As I experience using the Bench Fix Clay Doh, I found out that it gives hair texture and hold while changing styles anytime I want that comes in a matte finish. It is more manageable than what I am using before. I also noticed that my face did not get oily anymore, the style what I want hold for a very long time, shines less and it has a good fragrance. And you just get a small amount and rub it to your palm and work thorough the hair following your desired hairstyle. it usually holds my Hairstyle for a very long period of time, I experienced and noticed this the first time I used it, when I wake up the next day I feel that the Molding Clay is still in my hair and my hairstyle is still there. On the down side of it, I was disappointed when I take a bath because it seems so hard to wash away the clay doh, it so sticky and rough in texture. Then suddenly I found that I must shampoo my hair twice and put a conditioner to remove excess clay Doh in my hair. So I continued using it. As I came to college, I always use Clay Doh to fix my hair and I never regret using and switched to it because it is worth enough for me. Fourth is Johnson's Baby Bath Milk + Rice. I use this as my soap because it is the only soap I use to be. I tried other soap but it is the only one soap that satisfy me much because of my skin’ sensitivity. It also helps complete skin nourishment for smoother and healthier skin. It is always mild and gentle that suits to me. Since I used this soap, I refused on using lotions and other moisturizers because of its natural moisturizer. I also refused using shampoo because I used baby bath as my shampoo then. Aside from enjoying many benefits, I also earn more saving because it is more affordable than other mild soaps. Last product I love most is VITAMILK. It is made from whole soybean, which contains high proteins and vitamins. It is good for lactose sensitive individuals, health conscious individuals like me and great for everyday consumption and for all ages. I am a fresh milk drinker then, but I switched to vitamilk when I tried it the time it was available in the market. It is rich, thirst quenching, creamy with a touch of sweetness in the taste. it is known for its benefit of reducing the risk of cancer, heart disease and osteoporosis and in controlling diabetes. On the other hand, not all products provides benefits and advantages to an individual person, there is also times or situations that it takes down to other person, some causes are maybe because of the factory’s production fault or it’s not just suit to one person. Like me, I have tried some products for just an alternatives or trial, but it does not appeal me such that what I expect. There are three products that I tried once but failed to appeal me are the P&G’s Safeguard, C2 ‘CLASSIC’ of URC and COBRA Energy Drink. I consider SAFEGUARD as one of the worst product that I tried to use. I do not want this soap because when I tried it, I actually observed that my skin becomes dry and itchy. It also made my skin reddish because I have a sensitive skin. When I used this soap, pimples become more visible in to my face even at my back and it is so painful so I refused to use it. Based on my experience, soap makers must consider mildness on creating this products so it can also be used by many people who has a sensitive skin. But in good side, safeguard is known as the number germicidal soap in the world. But for me, it is the number one worst soap. Next to this was Cobra energy drink because when I tried drinking it, I get so dizzy, I lose more energy after I drank than I gain more energy and I also get tired. What I expect is that it will help me gain more energy so it makes me feel disappointed with this product. Lastly was C2 green tea classic, I do not liked this flavor of this drink because it s tasteless than other flavors, it tastes like a tea actually without any sweetener so it made me disappointed. The packages is good that is why I tried buying it to try but then when I tasted it, it’s so annoying. I concluded that situation that packaging is the major factor to persuade consumer, but the sore benefit itself has the only right to prove what the product really have.
Every product having it’s goals, advantages and disadvantages. Some products I encountered in my journey as a student let me learn many interesting lesson, I learned that marketing itself is so important for a company to learn and analyze the needs and wants of the consumers. One of the hardest thing to consider is that selecting the target market in order to make it successful. In some instance some products really achieved their goals but behind this success, there is still down sides for it.

Operational Performance Measurement

Chow, and J. E. Williamson, “Instructional case: the Proper Use of Feedback Information,” Issues in Accounting Education, 7 (1) (Spring 1992) pp. 48-56.) Readings 15-1: “Using Enhanced Cost Models in Variance Analysis for Better Control and Decision Making,” by Kennard T. Wing, Management Accounting Quarterly (Winter 2000), pp. 1-9. This article points out that oversimplifications of fixed and variable costs can result in the standard costing system not being used or, if used, can lead to bad decisions. That is, misclassifications of cost behavior patterns make variance analyses “paper tigers.” For variance reporting to be useful, financial managers need to develop cost models that reflect how costs actually behave. Discussion Questions: 1. Describe the implications for variance analysis of analyzing a semi-variable cost as either a variable or fixed cost. 2. Describe the implications for variance analysis of analyzing a step-fixed cost as either a variable or fixed cost. 3. Describe the implications on operating decisions of analyzing an operation with mixed costs...
