In College Composition 1 we will learn how to write a paper correctly. Also, how reading plays an important role in writing a proper document. Reading and writing go hand and hand and hand. I have never been good at either one of them. The main goal I hope to accomplish by taking this class how to write a paper correctly. Actually learn how to write a proper paper. This is something that has been difficult for me to learn, not sure why. In all the things I have written, they have all just been straight to the point. I have not learned how to elaborate on what it is that I am trying to say. It is hard for me to write my ideas down and make them make sense. Another goal is to help me learn how to read more and enjoy it. Reading helps you learn how to write and reading is not my best subject. For some reason it just never sunk into my head liking to read. I find it to be boring for some reason. One day maybe that feeling will change and by taking this class will help change my mind but for now, this is it. A way that will help me accomplish these few goals is in this class. Makin sure all my assignments are done to the best of my ability and listening to my professor’s good remarks and bad ones too. Learning from my mistakes with the help of my professor. Help me understand how to put everything that is my head on paper and make is sound like I know what I am talking about. Everything I hope to get out of this class will help me to reach my goals on learning how to write correctly. In business, one day I will have to write something important and I do not want to sound like I have no idea what it is I am trying to say. Even if it is in an email. Still want to always make sure everything is accurate and not sounding like a person who has no clue what they are doing. Make sure the message is in fact accurate and my words are not repetitive. I know with my professor and classmates help, I will be successful in this class and learn how to write. Writing is very important in our everyday life.

How I Feel About People Who Copy My Concepts, Ideas, and Even Content

...How I feel about people who copy my concepts, ideas, and even content How do you feel when people copy your ideas, concepts, and content? I know this question evokes mixed reactions. For instance, some people are proud to have their intellectual information copied even though such copying does not credit them. Such people are proud because they like helping people. On the other hand, there are those that are extremely jealous when people copy their ideas, concepts, and contents. To be honest with you, I happen to be in this category. I hate it when people copy my intellectual ideas without seeking my consent. I consider copying my intellectual property as theft. I never come to terms with whatever reason a person can claim for copying my work. I detest when people copy my ideas, concepts and content such that if I were the jury in a suit against them, I consider hanging as the most appropriate judgment. I hate people who copy my intellectual ideas and concepts because they put your ideas as if they are the original people behind the idea. These people who nothing else than to copy paste kill my morale. They kill my enthusiasm to generate new ideas because I know they will copy any new idea I develop and they will not mind passing credit where it is due. However, coming up with new ideas is what I do best. I generate new ideas by default and it is only a matter of time before I come up with a way of catching these thieves. Once is find my ideas copied, I wonder when will......

My Idea of Development

...My Idea of Development Development in its very basic meaning is the progression from one state of being to a more desirable state of being. Take for instance human development; maturing and becoming a contributing member of society is its goal. It is more desirable to be a mature and productive adult than to remain a child or child-like. The same goes for the development of nations and their economies and political and social systems. It is the goal for developing nations to mature and become stable contributing members of the global community and economy. In human development, part of becoming an adult is gaining the ability to be self-sufficient and having the confidence to continue to be so. Once again if we apply this idea to the development of nations, part of developing is becoming a nation that is sustainably self-sufficient. Obviously the development of third world countries is vastly different from human development, but if you look at the factors that contribute to successful human develop you can generalize them to fit with the development of nations. Whether talking about the development of a human being or a nation, almost everyone would agree that there are fundamental elements that ensure success. Those elements are proper nutrition, good health, education, positive reinforcement and confidence, ability to take care of one’s self, and stability. Michael P Todaro and Stephen C. Smith define the traditional view of development as “the capacity of......

My Idea of the Good Life

...Depending you are a man or a woman, there can be many aspects and opinions of the good life. Depending your rich or poor, there are many aspects. Some people say money is the key to a good life, but I do not think that. The age means something, but I have my opinion and have my own examples, and I will tell you, and can only speak for my self. From childhood you need good solicitous parents. If you have good parents, it has good effects on you, but if you have bad parents that don’t care about you, it will have negative effects on you and your future. Of course, that’s not a rule, but in most cases that will be the chance. My parents raised me well and have always loved me, and I love them too. If your life has to be good, you always need some resistance from your parents, so it isn’t all sugar in your childhood. Resistance will surely be good for you. My parents always there to support me. Support is very important for your life no matter your 5 years old or 60 years old. They have been there to support and guide me, whether it is badminton, school or any other problems. So it’s very important to have parents, and most important, parents that supports and guides me. Then you grow up and gets older. You start in school and get a lot of friends hopefully. I see the school as a important thing for your life, why that is the way to build up a good education, so you can have a job when your finishing school. For people who do not blow up, education is the same as a bright......

Com 156 Week 8 Assignment

...I will use definitions in my paper. The reason is many people know that they have the option to rent or buy a home but they are not all familiar with the terminology. Rental property, investment property, equity, and principal and interest (P&I) are all terms that many people may not be familiar with. The whole point of my paper is to try to persuade someone to buy a home instead of renting for the rest of their lives. I cannot persuade someone to do something if they cannot understand the points that I am trying to make. Therefore definitions, or at least a quick explanation, would absolutely benefit my paper. Also, if I use terms that the audience does not understand this can make them decide to stop reading or completely shut out the possibility of considering my ideas. I would not feel comfortable, or see the point, of reading a story in a language that I did not understand. The same applies to reading information in any essay. The point of creating a persuasive essay is to persuade the reader. This can only be done if the reader can comprehend the material. I believe that compare and contrast could definitely work in my favor when trying to persuade the audience, it can also work against me. I do not want to list too many negative points about renting because that will make the reader think that I am trying to push my ideas on them. On the other hand, I do want to point out some of the major points that will help me persuade my audience. The trick......

Creative Thinking Essay

...Through the activity, I realized how silly it was to work against my usual steps based methodology in order to create a creative collage. My initial intention of going without a plan was to not limit myself within the boundaries of an outline so that I can freely decide on materials that I think would fit in my collage. This resulted in me just blindly looking for images that would represent MediaCorp but do not portray the lack of creativity in the industry. Reflecting on it, I could have used the systematic approach in a way that would not limit my material gathering. Creativity is an abstract topic and to represent it in a collage would be difficult. By brain storming and coming up with a plan on how to represent the topic, I could have saved time on the search for new cut outs half way through the collage making. Having a plan beforehand will not limit the materials that I can gather as long as I do not rigidly follow the plan down to every single detail but instead use it as a guideline. The efficiency enhancing methodologies do not limit creativity, most of the time it is the wrong usage of such methods that is the culprit. This point is supported by an interview with Dr. Larry Wending, vice president of the 3M’s research department, made in a Business Week article by Brian Hindo (2007). "In some cases in the lab it made sense, but in other cases, people were going around dreaming up green-belt programs to fill their quota of green-belt programs for that time...

Personal Reflection Hum111

...outside the box to determine great ideas that ensure success and determination when brainstorming anything. Reflecting back to week one I had to identify what critical thinking was to me and identify the six thinking stages of thinking and I fell into stage two which was the challenged thinker. I put myself into this stage because of how much I didn’t really know about critical thinking and the details it included. After nine weeks of learning about critical thinking and the details that are included, I have been able to move into further stages of critical thinking. In the last nine week’s I have read and understood many significant things about critical thinking. The top three significant things I have taken away from this class are; creative thinking, the role of questioning and criticism, and arguments analysis and evaluation. Creative thinking has taught me how to evaluate strategies to promote creative thinking and curiosity, and how to explain key methods for producing ideas. I am now able to understand different ways of thinking creatively when producing new ideas and presenting them. The role of questioning and criticism has ensured me to explain types of questions that lead to critical thinking, and to apply those strategies to stop criticism in problem solving. After learning about this topic it has ensured me to be more aware of the questioning that leads me into accepting and giving criticism when producing new ideas. My last significant thing I learned......

Learning Objective Write down the main aims of the week’s rehearsals, and explain how you think you have achieved these. The main aims for this rehearsals was for all members of the group to produce a research project on an idea that we all came up with, thinking that it would be a good idea to use as a final piece. Everyone achieved this because we all completed presentations explaining why each person’s idea was the best or how it could be developed. After we had done this and filled out an evaluation form for other, our next aim was to pick an idea that either two small groups could accomplish or one larger group - depending on the decisions that were made. I believe that we achieved this because we all sat down after the presentations were finished and had a in-depth conversation about the possibilities of ideas and how different characters or the development of said characters could be accomplished whilst showing them to an audience. Once we had done this, our next aim was to create basic characters for our plot in order to make it have more of a structure. We did this by giving advice, going around in a circle and asking questions about the person’s......

Phl 458 Refining Solutions

...Solutions It is essential to refine ideas and solutions to find the highest quality solution to a problem. The creative thinking process is used to produce ideas but the critical thinking process is used to evaluate and refine ideas and solutions. Applying criticism to ideas and solutions reduces the risk for error and makes good ideas even better (Ruggiero, 2009). In this paper Arguments will be evaluated and revised resulting in a refined and final solution to the problem. Original Issue How do I find more personal time for myself without neglecting my friends and family? Or simply just taking a day to rest, relax or do something fun. Through close observation of my family, friends and myself, I discovered some unhidden feelings of frustration. These feelings originated because of the lack of communication from me to my friends and family. Everyone that I care about are unaware of their demands on my time or how they made me feel when I was deployed and was unable to be there for birthdays, holidays or special occasions. I would get emails and letters in the mail when I was deployed and it was depressing see how much everyone depended on me to keep the family together and plan all the functions. Initial Solutions With the importance of having free time and being able to balance my time with family and friends, I dove into my imagination and brainstormed for solutions. Initial solutions included: ▪ Weekly dinners with my son ▪ Spend more time on......

Town Sick Epidemic

...The questions that I would ask is, when did people start getting sick? What type of chemicals were being disposed? What type of symptoms are people having while being sick? I would also ask, how is the company disposing the chemicals? and How long has the company been disposing of chemicals in an unsafe way? I think these questions are some of the most important questions and investigating the cause of the illnesses in the people in the community. When looking at problems and issues I think it's always important to as the first three questions when? how? and where? I think these are the best questions to ask because it's going to help get to the root of the issue. This situation is definitely an problem. In Chapter 7 it states "A problem means deciding what action will change the situation for the best." ( Ruggiero, 2012) With that said, that is exactly what we are doing to make the situation better; deciding what action is that to solve the problem. If this problem is not solved soon then I feel that it can definitely turn into a huge issue. For further investigation I would speak to the source of the problem. Specifically I would talk to the developers of the community first. Then, most importantly I would also talk to the victims. I feel that it is equally important too talk to the developers and the victims because that is going to be the best way to solve the problem and to rectify the problem. I think you could also help to talk to friends or family members that are......

Guitar Foot Rest

...My guitar foot rest is a multipurpose foot rest which is one of a kind. I believe Treble Cleft Musical Instrument Co will not hesitate to choose it. Here are some of the reasons why my foot rest is perfect for the music department. Situation: The foot rest has a heel of 75mm and an adjustable toe of 140mm and 170mm. it slopes upwards heel to toe. The foot rest can be folded to a box but is still easy to store. It is stable and can survive in a high school environment. If there are ever any problems with it then repairing and rebuilding is not a problem because of the simplicity of this product. Problems and possibilities: Test and evaluate: I am very happy with the final product and how it turned out because I expected my product not to work out and meet any requirements. The product took me lots of time because I kept changing my ideas. This is one of the reasons I had a late start as I did not have a specific idea. The two biggest problems I dealt with during the creation of this foot rest are: I couldn’t find the right idea for myself until I went into building the structure with an idea that changed in the designing process. As I was checking the height of the structure with a piece of the foam bored, I realized if this piece of foam is built inside the foot rest it would able to hold up the top and meet the required height. This encouraged me to erase all of the old ideas and built the structure with the new idea. Another problem that was encountered was that I......

Phl Week 2 Individual

... One must be creative to produce an original idea which solves the problem. There are four stages in the creative process used to solve a problem. I briefly will describe each stage. The first stage is “Searching for Challenges.” In this stage, meeting challenges in an imaginative, original, and effective way is the essence of creativity. This stage of the creative process represents the habit of constantly searching for challenges. It is this fact where creativity hinders on the challenges that one perceives. The second stage is “Expressing the Problem or Issue.” Finding the best expression that will produce the most helpful ideas is the objective in this stage. Consider as many expressions as possible. Each expression produces different avenues of thought. This will help an individual see a problem from many perspectives. The last thing a person wants to do is view a problem form just one perspective. That will limit that individual from many beneficial avenues of creative thought. “Investigating the Problem or Issue” is the third stage. This stage allows you to gather the necessary information to effectively deal with the problem. Research, experiences, and observations will be factors in dealing with the current problem. You can also interview knowledgeable people with expertise in that field. The fourth stage is “Producing Ideas.” The objective in this stage is to produce enough ideas to allow a decision or what action to take or...

Solve a Problem Paper

...challenges, expressing the problem or issue, investigating the problem or issue, and producing ideas. In the first stage: searching for challenges, it is expected for challenges to be constantly thought about and searched for. The text book “The Art of Thinking”, it says that the importance of searching for challenges is reflected in the fact that you can be creative only in response to challenges that you perceive (Ruggiero, 2009). In other words, without challenges there is no need for the mind to be creative. The second stage of the creative process is expressing the problem or issue. In this stage, it is best to find an expression that will yield the most helpful ideas. When looking for the best expression, it is looking for the best way to identify the problem or issue in a question form. The third stage: investigating the problem or issue, is where necessary information is collected to effectively deal with the problem or issue. Lastly, the fourth stage: producing ideas, is the stage where ideas are produced to decide what action to take or what belief to embrace. There are two common obstacles in this stage that consist of the unconscious tendency to limit your ideas to common, familiar responses and the temptation to stop producing ideas too soon. When searching for a personal challenge, the first thing that came to my mind was the imperfections in my new position at my employer. I and three other people...

Aristotle V. Plato

... Epitaphs Plato v.Aristotle Plato: Aristotle, may I ask you why you disagree with my theory of forms? Can you explain, or reveal your thoughts as to why? Better yet, express a theory you could replace my theory with. Aristotle: Sure, do you mind answering some questions for me? Just to confirm my understanding of your theory. Plato: Certainly. Aristotle: Is it safe to assume that the way you define the word ‘form’ in your theory of forms is synonymous with the word ideas? Plato: Yes. Aristotle: Ideas are perfect as long as they are in your mind. Would you agree with that statement? Plato: Yes, I would agree with that statement. Aristotle: This could be taken a step forward, a step so far that even you will disagree with it. Would you like to hear my progression based on your theory? Plato: Sure. Aristotle: According to your theory of form every idea a person has is perfect, and every attempt to bring life to that idea is imperfect. Is that right? Plato: Yes it is. I’ve said this before. Aristotle: Do you realize that someone could very well take your theory and assume you are insulting the Gods, or at the very least someone could interpret it in that way. Plato: What do you mean? You believe that I imply that God’s are flawed? You think that my theory of form can lead someone to believe such as thing? Aristotle: That, and worse. You see, if the idea of something is perfect and to create it makes it imperfect you must consider the......
