Leadership is commonly defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization. To me, leadership is much more; it is understanding the importance of a leader, caring for your group, organizing events efficiently, assisting whenever help is needed, and communicating with your group enthusiastically. Without leadership, the world would be a place without change. Leaders guide the way open mindedly and eventually change the world one step at a time.
Typically, sports present high schoolers with an opportunity to continue playing the sport they love and to build strong friendships. Throughout my life-long membership at Community Christian Church, I not only lead the children by assisting with activities and their Sunday school, but by leading through example. Leading through example is a fantastic opportunity to allow oneself and others to recognize them as a leader. On Sundays, I often assist with leading the children’s choir with hand motions and instruments, which develops my leadership and patience. In the summer, Vacation Bible School enables me to create friendships with the children I guide through the week. In addition to leading the children by example, I am a member of the bell choir which presents the older members of my congregation with an opportunity to view a young person participating in worship service. Also, as a spiritually flourishing youth at the church, I assist with the preparation of communion and participate in supplying the congregation with it during service. Deaconing allows me to understand the importance of the sacred sacrifice and to show my congregation I am capable of leading an essential task in worship. Participating in worship service, shows I’m a leader to not only benefit myself but to benefit others by taking on their responsibilities as my

My Philosophy Of Leadership

...I believe that leadership is a process where one individual strengthens, adds, and uses their skill set to positively influence and motivate the team they lead. Every leader is different and has strengths, skills, and abilities that differ from other leaders. Therefore, every leader is unique, but all leaders strive to improve and use their leadership skills to the best of their ability. My belief on leadership has evolved and changed numerous times since stepping into a program that fully embraces different leadership styles, abilities, and ways of looking at leadership. I have found that this view on leadership is one that I am currently fond of and see a connection to as I develop into my own unique leadership style. My philosophy on...

My Leadership Philosophy

...Leadership, Growing up I was taught anyone can be put in a leadership position but not everyone can be a leader of people. The army has the whole “provide purpose, direction and motivation to accomplish the mission," but I think there’s more to that. The army definition is for providing leadership to the soldier in front of you but not to the masses and that’s the leadership style I wish to have. I want to be able to inspire the masses in believing what I am preaching. When I first arrived at Fort Sill I was assigned one soldier then over time I began to have more soldiers that wanted me as their team leader. I always believed that all these soldiers wanted me as their team leader because I was still a young specialist and I still remembered...

...Throughout my life I have been influenced in my leading style by many amazing leaders who I one day aspire to be like. The main influence on my leadership has been my mother, who is a teacher and an amazingly invested leader. She is dedicated to the growth of the people she leads and teaches them to be advocates for themselves and gives them room to learn to develop their own ideas. She is a firm believer in the idea of stewardship, and cares about and gets to know the students she leads. I have also been influenced by several of my science teacher throughout the years, not only to pursue a science career, but also to grow my leadership skills through finding my passion, looking to the future, and learning from my mistakes and growing from...

My Leadership Philosophy

...John Maxwell once said, "Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others". Leadership by definition is the ability to establish a clear vision for other individuals to follow willingly to keep everyone unified. In my experiences, I strongly believe that being a leader helps improve one’s self-being. In fact, leadership is the skeletal structure of almost everything in our lives and without it, most things would collapse. It has been an honor to be in a few leadership positions that will enrich my life with the necessary tools to enhance my skills and expand my valuable knowledge about this diverse world and its people. Hence, my leadership skills give me the motivation to help form ‘servant leaders’...

...Leadership exhibited in a person inspires my confidence in them. It makes me want to follow them and do whatever they asked me to do, having faith in their guidance and direction as not only the right thing to do, but also the best thing to do in that particular situation. A good leader makes a person feel good by showing a genuine concern for you not only as a person, but as a contemporary they may choose to teach, coach, mentor, and befriend. This leader would be someone you would be able to depend upon for support, help, and guidance when times get hard. My Leadership Philosophy

...Leadership is defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization. To lead means to have the initiative in an action and be a positive example for others to follow. I believe that a leader always devotes themselves, even when no one is watching. You can’t be a leader if you only put in the effort when you are on the big stage. Not only do leaders work hard, but they also encourage and motivate others as well. I show leadership in many different ways. Not only during school but also outside of school. I participate in multiple school activities such as National Honor Society, food and fitness, cross-country, basketball, and track. I believe that I show leadership in these various activities by having a positive attitude and encouraging others to do their best. I also show leadership through other activities, such as volunteering at my church on Sunday’s and helping at the Riceville library during the summer. I am involved in National Honor Society because I have shown excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. ...While many people believe being a leader involves a bold and entitled person, do not abide by this. Leadership holds many meanings because the moment a person impacts someone else’s life maybe even in the smallest way can display leadership. I myself have experienced a “lollipop moment” the day I met someone who would change my life forever. This small amount of leadership shown by a stranger instantly changed my life. Totally unaware of the significant moment going on, I treated the moment like any other time I acquired a new friend. Before I knew it though the friendship blossomed into something bigger than words. This person changed my life and reminded me that genuine people do still exist. In a way it kind of felt like a dream because...

What Is My Leadership Philosophy

...Leadership philosophy serves as a basis on how we act as leaders. It is personal; something we choose that defines our expectations, values and acts. My leadership philosophy began to take shape earlier in my career, where I had the opportunity to meet and work for outstanding leaders. Leaders that had the inner drive to always improve and not be afraid of making mistakes. Leaders that taught me not to be satisfied with the “status quo”, especially in times of change and unexpected challenges. They were visionaries that inspired me and set the leadership foundation for my upcoming professional years. I will always remember their attributes, competencies and power to motivate others. ...My leadership philosophy defines who I am as a leader, and it has developed over my past 11 years as a Non Commissioned Officer. I have seen examples of leaders I want to be like and examples of leaders I do not want to emulate. My leadership philosophy has also carried over to my civilian career where supervise, train, and evaluate a staff of ten individuals. As a leader, it is critical to know what is important to me, so I can communicate my expectations to my subordinates. I also believe it is of utmost importance for my staff to know my leadership philosophy. They should know what I value. Even if my subordinates do not share the same philosophy, it helps us to have a better understanding and respect for each other. My Personal Leadership Philosophy

...MY PERSONAL LEADERSHIP PHILOSOPHY “To Lead with STRENGTH” My ultimate purpose in writing this is to share to everyone my personal leadership philosophy – what I believe to be important as we go on with the service. I believe that in imparting this set of guidance, you will come to understand who I am, what rules I live and work by, what you can expect from me and what I expect from you, and how I will evaluate your performance. In view hereof, I hope you will learn to trust my actions and know where I am heading. As I round up my values in life, I found out that the foundation of all my feats as I go up the ladder of my career is my STRENGTH. It always gives me the direction; it serves as my compass. The STRENGTH that I’m referring to here is neither physical nor psychological, but rather the energy to organize myself to effectively and efficiently perform my tasks, and the power to unite all of us so that we are able to attain the Army’s Vision of becoming “a professional, capable and responsive Army that is a source of National Pride.” And being your leader, it is my primary duty to impart this STRENGTH so that each of us here will have a moral compass to guide us through the maze of intellectual, philosophical and emotional issues that encompass our lives and the Army. STRENGTH outlines my character and translates to: Selfless service, Trust, Respect, Empowerment, Nobleness, God, Teamwork, and Humility. Selfless Service: When I speak about selfless service, it...
