My Management Experience

...My Management Experiences My management experiences started when I was assigned as the first and only Coal Milling Supervisor. Coal milling then was a very troublesome section, most probably because supervisors in our department are mostly focused in Pyro-processing operation, considered the heart of cement manufacturing. I oversee operations of three units Coal Mill Plants, one unit Coal Flash Dryer and coal conveying systems. I ensure sufficient stock of fine coal in terms of quantity and quality and the continuous availability of all the coal milling equipment. Fine coal is being used as fuel in clinker (semicement) manufacturing. The most recent project in Coal Milling is the state of the art Coal Dozing system worth around P50 M, part of the P2B worth of modification project in the Pyroprocessing department. Coal Mills run 24 hours-7days when the two units Rotary Kiln (Pyro-processing) is in operation. Fine coal consumption is almost break-even with the coal mill capacities. Break down of any equipment in a Coal Mill Plant may result to slow down of Rotary Kiln or reduce in clinker production. Thus, short planning and scheduling of maintenance works at coal mill have to be cautiously implemented and people who will do the job must be motivated to finish the job as soon as possible. If break down of any coal mill took more than eight hours, slowdown of in pyro-processing is inevitable. My Management Experiences During my first year in Coal Milling, I did a...

My Business Management

...My Business Management Some important questions that I as the owner ask are exactly the same issues covered in the mission statement: Who are my customers? Where are they? What do they want? When do they want it? Why should they buy it from me? How do I get it to them? This essay describes my concrete experience of running and managing a construction company. Pricing, for the Construction Company, relates to how well the project is estimated. After the contractor estimates the cost of the project they must add a fair profit. At this point it is important to know your competition and to determine construction “profit margins” for your locale. The better you know your competitors the more competitive you will be. The success of the firm can very well be determined by the skill of the estimator. [pic] In the competitive bidding market the lowest reasonable bid most often get the contract. Promoting is the art of selling and can be accomplished in a number of different ways, such as advertising, brochures, direct mailings, and personal contacts. Your decision on the best way to promote your construction company will depend on the type of contract you are competing for and your market. In the construction business competing for the jobs in your market area is done with bids. The two different types of contracts are public bids, or negotiated bids. For public competitive bids pricing is the primary marketing emphasis, and for negotiated bids contacts are most important. Az űrlap...

My Advice on Employee Management

...If managers decide that an employee’s performance is so poor as to necessitate dismissal, what must they be aware of? Managers must be aware that when terminating staff due to ongoing poor performance, they need to do so in accordance with organisational and legal requirements. Managers need to be aware of the requirements and possible consequences of unfair dismissal under existing legislation. It is important for business resources that this is done so to avoid having to use resources and time fighting unfair dismissal claims or legal claims by an employee where it can be established a breach of legal and organisational requirements has been found. It is also important to be sure all business needs and resources have been made available and utilised by the employee prior to termination as the time and money in business resources been used by an organisation to recruit, cover employment gaps, shifts, workloads, re setting of team structures and goals and training of new staff can be saved by persevering with the existing employee where possible. Managers also need to take into account such factors as employee’s performance history and record and whether there’s a long history of poor performance or this out of character for the employee. A manager also needs to be aware the need to follow correct warning procedures prior to their termination and was given the opportunity to respond. Care Management Model Based on My Philosophy

...Care Management Model Based on My Philosophy   Care Management A shift from encounter based care to continuums of care is one of the biggest changes occurring in health care today. This change is driven by governmental legislation, payer incentives, and the recognized need by providers and healthcare systems. The lack of coordinated care results in medical errors, unnecessary procedures, and other forms of waste. This also creates higher costs for the patient, lower quality, and produces an unsatisfactory patient experience. A study performed by the Midwest Business Group on Health in collaboration with the Juran Institute revealed that 30% of all health care expenses result from poor quality care. In 2009, total health expenditures in the U.S. were $2.5 trillion. This means that $750 billion was the result of poor quality (Ralston & Park, 2011). Care Management Model Based on My Philosophy Case management and clinical pathways are strategies used to manage patient care. Although they use different approaches, both are related. The primary function of a case management program is to enhance the coordination of needed resources for patients and their families. Case managers facilitate access to services, both clinical and non-clinical, by connecting the individuals to resources that support him/her in playing an active role in the self-direction of his/her health care needs. Clinical pathways, on the other hand, are tools and systems. The tool reflects only part of the case...

...Kimberly Tucker, Chris Salt, Ashley Solomon Case 7: Mattel: Overcoming Marketing and Manufacturing Challenges 11/01/2010 Marketing Management 6800 Section 004 The Problem: The problem surrounding Mattel Inc., one of the world’s largest toy companies, is their mismanagement of international subcontractors and vendors and the production of certain toys (the manufacturing process), as well as their inability to adapt their marketing strategy or product to the constantly changing “demographic and socioeconomic trends” (Ferrell, et. all 466). This is supported by Mattel’s legal battle with Carter Bryant and MGA, their forced recall of certain toys that were manufactured overseas, and the increasing rate at which traditional toys are becoming less appealing to today’s young audience. Essentially, Mattel’s mismanagement and oversight lead to violations in terms of ethical and social responsibilities and safety standards. Issues Relevant to the Problem: Mattel’s problem of mismanagement can be divided into several issues that need to be considered: legal issues, international supply chain issues, and an increase in technology-based toys. In regards to legal issues, Mattel has been involved in prolonged litigation with Carter Bryant and MGA over a breach of an employment contract and copyright infringement. Due to Mattel’s poor management of its overseas manufacturers, in which unauthorized subcontractors and third-party suppliers were hired and unsafe materials used, several...

Management for My Life

...Section I- Case Summary • Across the majority of Europe, Dunkin’ Donuts, (the 64-year-old company), suffers from being well known. • As of now, Dunkin’ Donuts only has 150 establishments throughout Europe, small, compared to the 11,000 worldwide. • Dunkin’ Donuts has extensive plans to open an additional 1,150 stores across Europe. These openings will range from Northern England to Eastern Europe. •It was the second attempt by Dunkin’ Donuts to open up shops in the U.K. In 1990’s Dunkin made efforts to open shops but failed due to poorly chosen locations and inexperienced franchisees. • Dunkin’ plans on hiring corporate teams consisting of marketing specialists who are locals to the specific countries to facilitate expansion. • With plans to add much bigger seating areas, serving food on ceramic dishes, and allowing customers to enjoy free Wi-Fi, Dunkin’ will create a café-like atmosphere that will add to customers’ leisure. • Dunkin’ is budgeting itself by opening fewer stores in major cities where the rent would cost an abundance. • As European habits change, interest in an American-style coffee and doughnut experience has increased which has been overpowering the typical “tea party”. • Dunkin’ faces competition from coffee shops such as Starbucks and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, as well as U.K. based coffee shops such as Café Nero, Costa Coffee, and Dum Dum Donutterie. My Way a Discourse Analysis

...My Way by Paul Anka 1969; A Song Lyrics Analysis * Lyrics My Way by Paul Anka 1969 And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, I'll say it clear, I'll state my case, of which I'm certain. I've lived a life that's full. I've traveled each and every highway; But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, I've had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way. I've loved, I've laughed and cried. I've had my fill; my share of losing. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that; And may I say - not in a shy way, "No, oh no not me, I did it my way". For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And did it my way! * Theme The lyrics of "My Way" tell the story of a man who, having grown old, reflects on his life as death approaches. He is comfortable with his mortality and takes responsibility for how he dealt with all the challenges of life while...

Xmgt/230 Organizational Structure

...Companies Create Value for People) Walmart as we know it here in the United States operates in a number of different countries under numerous names, all the same corporation. Walmart consists of three main business divisions. These include Wlamart United States, Walmart International, and Sam’s Club. These main divisions are the core of its’ organizational structure. From these divisions leadership and management is then regionally developed and divided into regions of each division all the way down to store managers. The headquarters of this nearly billion dollar corporation still lies in the state of Arkansas where it was began, which would make Walmart United States the top division of the three. This organizational structure is for a global, publically shared company that is seemingly only profiting more with time. A smaller company such as a hometown car dealership would operate under a much different organizational structure. Most of them in my area are family owned and operated, which would reflect on the matrix structure more than anything. One head CEO of the small company in my hometown is in charge of the whole thing....

Barbie Case

...Question 3 Choose a brand where its core product is primarily for kids e.g. The Wiggles, Thomas and Friends, Hello Kitty etc. Write a paper on how it has diffused throughout the product categories and how it has extended to other categories as well. Do a case study of its success (or failure) and how it has changed the landscape of product innovations. For example, Thomas and friends has clothes, stationery, household products, jewellery etc. *** She is a successful independent woman, who lives in a world of pink, where she owns a dream house in Malibu. Every day, she wears high-heels to work, and even runs a fashion chain under her name. For many, she was the influential icon of American culture in the late 20th century. Until now, I dare say that her image is still very potent worldwide. Who is she? Never before has she ever starred in a Hollywood movie or performed at a famous fashion show. Surprisingly, she never exists in real life and she is literally a toy. Yes, it can hardly be any other toy but Barbie. Nowadays, girls can be seen wearing Barbie clothing, using Barbie perfume, carrying Barbie backpacks, and sleeping in Barbie pajamas, not to mention cosmetics, sneakers etc. (Morgenson 1991, 66). Mattel, Inc., the mother company of Barbie, should feel proud of her. Because on average, an American girl has ten Barbie dolls, a British or Italian girl may own seven, while five is the number of Barbie that a German or French girl has. It was Mattel’s purpose and will...
