The most memorable part of my practicum experience was the work I completed for my intervention project. I individually worked with a second-grade student. Throughout the course of the five weeks I taught the young lady pro-social skills. This was not my first encounter working independently with a student. However, I can definitely say this is my most memorable experience. The young lady was described as slightly aggressive and she did not know how to appropriately interact with her peers. I quickly realized that a portion of this behavior was a result of the young lady’s cleft palate. Her cleft palate made it difficult to speak and to be understood and the student’s in her classroom, were not the most cordial when it came to her. Therefore,

...the practical experience. I am a fourth year student of English major so I also have completed eight practicum weeks from (February 29th , 2014 to March 8th ,2014 ) at Thanh Tra hotel. I got many advantages as well as disadvantages when I practiced here. Eight practicum weeks helps me realized that working is not easy. It is very different from studying in school. However, thanks to this valuable time that I can learn many things, I can recognize my strengths and weaknesses as well and some special talents that I do not know before. There are four parts in this practicum report: the description of my practicum place, my practicium activities, task and experience, my self -evaluation, and my suggestions. In my practicum report, I have indicated my daily activities task, experiences, some problems and difficulties while practicum. I also give my suggestions for students who are going to have internship to practice better. acknowledgement Firstly, I want to send my sincere thanks to School of Foreign Languages to allow and support me to do this report. Capstone Requirement

...Welcome to the Practicum/Capstone Experience First of all, take a deep breathe. Reflect on all you have achieved so far! You are now ready to put what you have learned into practice and then write a long paper that synthesizes what you have learned into a research report. To save time and energy, you might want to create a practicum experience that informs your capstone and gather data at the practicum (under the guidance of Dr. Beaman and your preceptor) that you can report and discuss in your capstone. Ask yourself what your passion is and create a practicum/capstone about that topic. NURSING EDUCATION PRACTICUM You can use an academic setting, online college, public health facility, or even a nursing staff development venue. However you MUST have an MSN prepared nurse to precept you. NOTE: You cannot gather data about people without an Institutional Review Board approval, but you CAN gather data about YOUR intervention (lesson, PowerPoint, article, intervention, poster, YouTube, etc.) and use it. Do not begin your practicum until you have submitted ALL the paperwork required in the Preceptor Guide to Dr. Beaman and it has been approved. Develop three to five objectives for yourself that are measurable by deliverables in conjunction with your preceptor and submit to Dr. Beaman. For example: Student will develop a PowerPoint for presentation to student nurses. Student will create a survey to measure satisfaction with lesson by participants. Student will attend...

I have also cited any sources from which I used data, ideas, or words, either quoted directly or paraphrased. I also certify that this paper was prepared by me specifically for the purpose of this assignment. Robert J. Barnett Introduction: What Jim Collin’s epic book Good to Great is to the business and leadership world, Len Sperry and Jon Carlson’s book, How Master Therapists Work (2014) is to the field of psychotherapy and counseling. Both books tell us with vivid accuracy what key qualities separate the best of the best from simply being good at what you do. Len Sperry, MD, PhD, ABPP and Jon Carlson PsyD, EdD, ABPP. and their subject matter are of great interest to me. The subtitle captures the heart of the book’s content and the quintessence of what I want to learn more about, Effecting Change from the First through the Last Session and Beyond. I felt very inadequate as I began practicum concurrent with starting the MAPC program in August, 2013 (still do). Adding the privilege of doing practicum in a real clinic right from the start with real clients resulted in a high motivation to learn quickly in order to be effective and helpful. One of my supervisors at that clinic, in her first formal assessment of me wrote in response to the category/rating:...

...1. What was my overall reaction to the assigned reading? I really enjoyed this reading in Chapter 9. I related this reading to the work I do in my field practicum as it relates to the cognitive and moral development of human beings and human behaviors. As you already know, I work for Stella Maris, a drug and alcohol treatment facility. We talk a lot about cognitive development and the concerns we have with our clients as it relates to their disease of addiction. We need to know what changes in intellectual abilities, mental activities, and behaviors through which knowledge of the world is attained. This requires an understanding of us as counselors, to know what the variety of factors are including, biological, social, environmental, experiential, and motivational as well as the emotional life of each of our clients’. When we know this information, we are best able to examination their needs and understand the ways in which their cognitive and moral development have hindered their lives. As a result, we are then able to treat the problem and get into the solution. At Stella, we do this by treating our clients in a number of different ways. According to Piaget, he believed the environmental factors played a large role in the psychological development, in general, and cognitive development. As a counselor, we see this everyday with our clients’. They come into treatment with different environmental factors that play a major role in their addictions. As a result, we see that in...

Tanf

...Morgan Bartley Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Research Paper Rough Draft Sinclair Community College Outline Introduction: My chosen social welfare policy is Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. I chose this policy because it is a policy that I agree we should have and I feel helps the needy families out a lot. Everyone at some point in their life will need some sort of assistance. TANF is a great option for people who might not be very poor but are struggling temporarily. TANF also is for families who are below the poverty line and who are suffering greatly. TANF is a federally funded grant program that allows states to administer and create their own assistance programs for families in need. The policy I chose corresponds to the practicum placement I am at, which is Boys and Girls Club of Dayton. Boys and Girls Club is an after school program for kids in Dayton to have a safe place to grown and learn. They also have ongoing relationships with caring professionals, and also get to experience life-enhancing programs and character developing experiences. The children at boys and girls club are less fortunate than say kids in Centerville schools, so this is a great place for them to come and get homework done, and play with friends. I believe my policy corresponds with my practicum because, a lot of the children and families I see look as though they have some sort of assistance. For some of the parents of children from Boys and Girls Club, TANF is probably temporary...

...Chapter I INTRODUCTION One method of enhancing and enriching the skills of students is by undertaking the On-the-Job Training. Students who are taking up Bachelor of Science in Information Technology are given the chance to undergo the so called On-the-Job Training to be able to apply the knowledge they acquired from school to their respective chosen agencies. It is the beginning of the greatest educational experience a BSIT student would encounter. It is one way of developing their sense of responsibility upon performing the given task by their supervisors and the rest of the office staff. It is also the time for a BSIT student to develop the desirable traits of a future office worker. Thus, a BSIT student has the opportunity to develop attitudes, skills and understanding which is necessary in the field of information technology particularly in the IT/ computer-related workplaces as IT professionals. As BSIT students, the On-the-Job Training provides a background of what is really going-on in a certain office. On-the-Job Training provides the opportunity in promoting worthy values and developing strong moral character among other people in the community. It is one of the factors that are helpful to the students in enriching and enhancing their knowledge learned at school. ...occurred and nothing got accomplished. Thankfully the average combined with the positive days outshine my negative days. Through my 3 months of practice teaching, one event stands above the rest as my absolute best teaching experience. Through it I learned so much about teaching and dealing with students. My hope is that the student involved was at least partially changed for the better from the experience as I was. I also hope that there is something in this story that can help inform and inspire you. Being a student teacher is not an easy task. Lots of demands from your mentors must be attained. High expectations are given to you. There are lots of tears that were shed due to remake of lesson plans, grades, and mentors' comments. you must be strong in meeting the hardship of being a student teacher but I do believe that through the hardship I've experienced inside ILS will mold me to be a best teacher someday. All my sufferings will be all worth when I'll be in the real battle field as being a teacher.           One thing I could say about my learners is that they are very noisy during our first met. there are times that they did not respect their student teachers, thus, it creates a gap and hate between us (student teachers) and them. As days went by, I've learned that even though they are very stubborn they are still sweet and lovable in their own little ways.          To my fellow student teachers, so far we are okay though there...

I also had a reaction of dread as I don’t like guns and violence. I am unsure how to react to this in play nor do I like it. In fact, I have always asserted...
