The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test is an exceptional tool to determine not how a person relates to other but to determine how a person develops their perceptions, gather information and makes decisions. The Myers-Briggs personality preference of Extroverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging (ENTJ) are known as the natural born leaders. Generally being a leader is an admirable trait. However, there are times when the ENTJ preference can alienate others and be seen as micromanagers. Needs work

Reading about the Judging preference, I see a mirror image of how I live my day to day life (The Personality Page, 2015). I feel that everything has its own place and I can compartmentalize things very easily. This is to include physical objects as well as thoughts and feelings. I make multiple lists and do add additional tasks that I have completed through the day (Kroeger, et al. (2002) p. 24). I also feel that this is a very true trait of someone who has a tendency to be in control and this is possibly the genesis of where the ENTJs develop the reputation of being leaders, field marshalls and always in charge. This can be a very good personality trait however, this trait could very easily alienate others by being the antithesis of a control …show more content…
As stated earlier, I do not like the standard answer of “well this is how we have always done business”. I feel that an organization should always be evolving and striving to be more efficient and proficient. ENTJSs are the natural leaders however where this may be perceived as a positive trait, ENJTs can also put people off and push people away because they are always needing to be in control. Female ENTJs may also find themselves in an unwanted situation because they can be perceived as intimidating (Kroeger, et al. (2002) p. 393). I have been told in that past that I can be somewhat intimidating so this characteristic rings true for me.
MBTI and Organizational Behavior I feel that the MBTI personality test would be incredibly valuable in any organization and if I would really like to administer this test to all of my co-workers, leaders and subordinates. Having the ability to identify people’s motivations and preferences, would assist in a multitude of ways in the professional arena. Not everyone is the same and different personalities react in different instances to certain circumstances. Both of these tests are made up of multiple questions on feelings to how you react in certain situations. Out of the two tests I like the Myers Briggs test better than the type A and B test I feel I got a better reading from the Myers-Briggs test. So my results in the Myers-Briggs test was INTJ and this was broken down into four categories. First introvert, second intuitive, third thinking and the fourth judging. I was pleasantly surprised. I scored a slight preference of introversion over extraversion by 22%. I had a distinct preference of intuition over sensing by 62%. And for my other test I scored a 5 out of 10 making me a type B personality. So now comes the fun part of breaking each part of the test down on what type of leader I am.
