The problem that seems to affect my day-to-day life the most is having enough energy to complete my day. On most days I find myself starting my day at 6:00 a.m. By 6:30 I am sitting in front of my computer at work, completing school assignments and gathering information that will help me with my papers and discussion questions. At 8:30 I start my work day, which typically requires more research into developing plans and procedures that will help when disaster strikes our area. At 4:30 p.m., I will normally find myself leaving work and heading to some type of ballgame that I will be officiating. Whether it is football, basketball or baseball; I spend the next 3 – 5 hours on a field running around and using up what energy I have remaining. When this typical day is over I head home for the night. I always like to spend a little time with my son and wife before going to bed, so I may not find myself in bed and asleep before 11:00 p.m. Just to get myself up 7 hours later and do it all over again. Even when it comes to weekends when I should be recuperating, I will still typically have some type of ballgame which leaves me with little energy when it is all said and done. When it comes to gathering information to help me solve this problem, there are many different areas I can research. For one, I can search the internet for ideas on how to keep my body healthy and able to withstand the abuse that I put it through. I can also seek help from my physician, who can give me pointers on staying fit so that everything that I do does not take so much out of me. All of the sports that I officiate help me to stay healthy, but the research can help me to find the energy to keep up with them. Energy is something that can be built over time. I know that I can adjust the amount of sleep my body needs, by getting use to a certain amount each night.
