The Culture of the New Capitalism What is a structured society? Do we live in a structured society, some would say yes and others no? I would say no even though the economy has had a boost in the past we have also seen it crash. Examples that come to mind would be the great depression or even more currently the 2008 recession. Our government is just not stable its debt is much higher than what can be paid off. The current situation is more like robbing Peter to pay Paul but Paul is not getting paid. We are digging a hole that we can’t come out of, prices are rising and salaries are staying the same. Times are changing but nothing is changing with it people are living paycheck to paycheck. The three points that were mentioned in the text are time, talent, and surrender. Time refers to the ability for a person to manage all of their commitments that life many hold. Ranging in daily activities work and home relationships as well as just having time to satisfy oneself. Next would be talent, it’s important a person knows and understands what their talent is and how to utilize it to be successful. Then knowing when it’s time to learn a new talent and being adaptive to the situation and keeping up with the demands shift. They also seem to hire outside the hospital never within. I have a hard time adapting to my current position and taking orders from a manager that has less experience and a lack of education. I’m very aware of my talent to lead and take control but have hold back from utilizing my full talent and just remain a number. I find it hard to surrender what I have worked so hard for, but soon my time will come. I don’t expect the position to be given to me, but I have worked from the bottom up with both experience and education and meet all the requirements. Some reason my manager over looks me due to her being intimidated by my experience. I will never be successful in my current positon until I get out of my current department. She is very strict and makes it known that she is the person in charge. She has no intention of listening to new ways to improve the department, she is just there to make herself look
