New World Order

...A New World Order By: Karen Tumulty & Mark Thompson TIME Obama picked his national-security team and it is made up of members who tend to disagree on major policy issues. Each one of them is a powerful figure in the political world except for the national security adviser James Jones. Jones is former four star marine general he worked for John McCain but claims no party and doesn’t take any political side. He feels that the political parities and viewpoints shouldn’t interfere with national security. Robert Gates a familiar face will be returning again this year, Obama is the eighth president he has served under. Hillary Clinton was nominated by Obama to be secretary of state, she was a fierce opponent against Obama during the primaries but he knows her foreign policy skills are a huge talent of hers. The national-security team is only a nomination position and it is up to congress to decide if they like the presidents pick if they do the president gets to keep his pick and they will become part of the team. If not he will have to choose another person and put his pick to congress for approval. This is one of congresses checks against the executive office and it is there for congress to make sure the right person gets the job and tries to keep the president from choosing one of his homies or a member of the fringe elements of society. Obama still has to keep these opposing opinions in check or it will turn out like President Bushes national-security team which...

China and New World Order

...China and New World Order Based on what you have learnt in this course, what kind of world order do you think we have now and to what extent a new world order is shaped by the rise of China? In what aspects is the rising China changing the existing world order? World order has a variety of definitions. In general, it refers the pattern of relations between states, behaved according to a set of institutional rules and principles. It changes over time when great powers rise and fall. Suggested by George Modelski, the Long Cycle Theory believes a war will emerge after the rising power threatens the original hegemony and might replace the existing world order. The challenge posed by the rise of China to the western dominance is felt worldwide as her second largest economic status. A question has been asked by an American scholar John Ikenberry – “Will China overthrow the existing order or become part of it?” This essay aims at introducing the current world order and investigating how it has been changed with the inclusion of China. One of the two major types of world order is the Westphalia order which is based on the modern state system. It is the concept of authority on the territory that the sovereignty of states and the fundamental right of politics is self-determined without any intervention from other states in internal affairs. This system highly respects the territorial integrity of states and the legal equality between states that is no matter the size of a country...

New World Order: Not Built in a Day

...The New World Order: Not Built in a Day Luke Nosko 2011-04-02 David Tabachnick Word Count: 3028 The end of the Cold War, marked by the collapse of the Soviet Union, was the beginning of an unprecedented geopolitical scenario in modern times, namely the existence of a lone superpower nation which easily dominated the other countries of the world in terms of military strength and international economic and political influence. With this never-before-seen position of power in the modern, globalized world came the heightened importance of American foreign policy decisions, and the world waited to see how the US would react to being thrust abruptly into this role of the unipole of world power. The first test of US foreign policy as the sole superpower would actually come before the official dissolution of the USSR (though it had been in steep economic decline for some time), when Saddam Hussein lead the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990. US President George H. W. Bush would place this conflict into perspective for the countries now looking to the US for leadership in his address to a joint session of Congress and the nation on September 11, 1990, and it was then that he most famously claimed that the US would strive to establish and protect the concept of a New World Order (NWO): “We stand today at a unique and extraordinary moment. The crisis in the Persian Gulf, as grave as it is, also offers a rare opportunity to move toward an historic period of cooperation. Out of these...

Brics Build a New World Order

...Something stupendous happened in the middle of a recession last year. At a time when vast swathes of Europe were being laid waste by an economic tsunami, world trade grew fastest in the last 50 years. It is not hard to figure where this growth was taking place – not in Europe or the United States. The long anticipated South-South show is now a reality. Trade data show a paradigm shift from the advanced nations, which will show an import growth of 0.9-1 percent, while the emerging economies will exhibit import growth of 4.5-5 percent this year. What this means is that the emerging nations are trading more among themselves while the West is being edged out of the fastest growing markets. But behind these statistics hides another story – the United States, the flagship of the Anglo-American empire, is listing. And from its shadow is emerging a new world order being drafted by the BRICS – Brazil, Russia, India, China and the latest member, South Africa. Since the G-7 has turned into a gabfest, the BRICS will increasingly set the global economic agenda. This is not a replay of the Great Game – geopolitical manoeuvres aimed at top dog status – though you can never discount that possibility entirely. The BRICS have no empire ambitions, and in fact are a diverse group of multi-ethnic nations with very little in common. Russia and South Africa are literally and racially poles apart, and India and China are on opposite ends of the freedom index. This rainbow coalition...

Conspiracy Theories - New World Order

...randomness, they dread the sort of random occurrences that can destroy their lives, so as a mechanism against that dread, it turns out that it’s much easier to believe in a conspiracy. Then you have someone to blame, it’s not just randomness. - Psychological forces (VS evidence-based thinking) Psychological forces like motivated reasoning have long been associated with conspiracy thinking, but scientists are learning more every year. On the other side there is the evidence-based thinking which most of the people who do not believe in these theories have. o Motivated reasoning Motivated reasoning is an emotion-biased decision-making phenomenon - Expand the conspiracy Another common trait is the need to constantly expand the conspiracy as new evidence comes to light. An example of this is the climate change conspiracy theory which states that the climate changes are not true and are made up. This is, as we all know, a topic that has been researched a lot, but the conspiracy theorists means the...

Black Helicopters

...Imagine discovering a tiny helicopter living inside you and feeding off your nutrients, sounds impossible right? Wrong. According the theory The New World Order (NWO) has created a microscopic fully-functioning helicopter via biotechnology in attempts to take over the world. Many people defend the theory of these “Black Helicopters”. Not much is known about Black Helicopters. What we do know is they are autonomous agents –life forms- created by the NWO. Using Biotechnology the NWO has successfully created life forms modeled after helicopters. They appear to exhibit intelligent behavior and adaptive problem solving skills. It has been reported that they start out as seed crystals that are injected into a biological “host organism”. They have also been reported to be ejected from planes in the form of “chemtrails”(BeforeItsNews.com) which is when planes flying overhead spray the Black Helicopter seed crystals into water sources and farm lands. The Black Helicopters will live inside the host organism, usually undetected, until they get big enough for the “live birth” which is when they burst from within the host organism. Some smaller Black Helicopters camouflage themselves as smaller animals, Pigeons and squirrels for example, to spy in broad daylight. According to theory, the NWO plans on using these Black Helicopters for full world power. The Black Helicopters if detected will commit suicide if compromised, usually resulting in Spontaneous human combustion. They do this because...

The Goal

...heard of a novel about a production plant? Well, Eli has made the production managers have quite an epiphany. In one book he might have changed the whole world of cost accounting. Eli approached the production world with a common sense view. Using just one goal, making money, he referenced every activity to it. Eli said, "I view science as nothing more than an understanding of the way the world is and why it is that way." You see, Eli is a physicist, and in being one, has to understand why things work the way they do. His common sense approach is illustrated beautifully in this novel. He has looked at cost accounting from the outside and has developed a whole new system because of it. Everyone from accountants to production managers to CEO’s should read this book. Because of its fundamentals, it should be part of the curriculum of every accounting program. This novel has and continues to help the industry to make strides toward continuous improvement. Chapter One The first chapter gets the reader acquainted with Mr. Alex Rogo and his apparent problems with his production plant. This is shown through a confrontation between Mr. Rogo and his boss Mr. Peach, the Division Vice President. The dispute is over an overdue order #41427. Through their conversation it’s learned that Mr. Peach will not settle for anything less than the order being shipped today, and since the plant is neither productive nor profitable, Alex has three months to show an improvement or the plant will be shut...

My Autobiography

...Oluchi Mmeli Okeke 1st September 2015  It was the 9th of July 2014. The day I finally knew that I really wasn’t a child anymore. I shook a little bit from the inside when I knew that I was going to be graduating on that very day. Sleep was not the answer to my problem a night before the 9th, I was so anxious; I kept wondering about what I was going to wear and how I was going to feel. ‘Oh Gosh! What if I fall off the stage?’ I thought to myself. I was really anxious about it and happy at the same time, I had mixed feeling.   I woke up the next day as excited as you can imagine. The first very word I said that day was ‘Its Time’. I didn’t waste time to begin to get ready; my mom helped me pack some things that I needed for the day. I smiled every time I saw the suit I was going to wear; I had been picturing myself in a fully decorated suit since I was a little child.  Time was not on my side, I quickly finalized what I was doing and took off.  I got to the school premises about an hour before the ceremony started; I went up to where we were supposed to get ready and organize ourselves. I met a couple of my friends they all looked beautiful, I really wanted to take pictures with them but I really had to get ready, they were already dressed up apart from me. I swiftly unzipped my bag and started to dress up.  “You guys have 10 more minutes to get ready” The vice principal called out from the hallway. Sweat dripped down my cheeks, I knew that I needed more time to get myself...

Columbian Exchange

...Christopher Columbus settled to the new land which was later called America. America’s resources are the reason for the success that Europe had from the Columbian Exchange. Studied by historian Alfred Crosby, this was a process in which the animals, plants, and bacteria life mixed in the New Worlds. It was a time of cultural exchanges between the New World and the Old World. In this time, many people were making discoveries that would affect the Worlds in a positive way, but also some discoveries would be negative. The positive discoveries from the Columbian exchange that would help the expansion of Europe was technology, plants, and animals. The downfall that was brought with the Columbian Exchange was the fast spread of disease though the New Worlds. Europe became a powerhouse because of the discovery of new technology such as a written alphabet, new farming equipment, new weapons and firearms, and architecture. Europeans introduced the written alphabet to the natives during the Columbian exchange to improve trade. Not only did they teach them the alphabet for trade, but they taught them it because they wanted to educate the natives about religion. The Europeans wanted the natives to convert their beliefs to Christianity. This discovery of the alphabet was a huge reason for Europeans technological success. One of the biggest technological advancements in the New World was the discovery of the plow. Livestock would drag the plow across the land in order to gain more area. The plow...

Billy Elliot

...Moving into the world requires one to rise above their circumstances and embrace the support of others Entering into a new world can be daunting and quite intimidating for an individual. Barriers and obstacles often prevent the smooth transition whilst moving into the world. However, with self-determination and the support of others it can potentially lead to a positive outcome. Stephan Daldrys film Billy Elliot (2000) explores these notions and highlights the importance of rising above circumstances and embracing the support of others by enduring such experiences in order to succeed in the transition of moving into the world. The film reveals how individual determination and strength is often required to transition from one world to another, also exploring the idea of how transitioning into another world can be daunting and unexpected for the individual whom is making the change and that everyone's world is different and needs to be accepted. Firstly the film explores the notion of how individual determination and strength is often required to transition from one world to another, this idea is reflected throughout the 'private lessons and rising tensions' scene. In this particular scene billy and his ballet teacher Mrs Wilkinson are both equally committed, consistent and also remain perseverant regardless of the circumstances in which they find themselves. We see that Billy embraces the support of others and in turn, is on the road to potential success. As billy enters...
