Technical Specifications
Please answer the following questions about your solution’s technical specifications. This will help the City assess the potential maintainability, interoperability, and flexibility of the final solution. Does your solution include ongoing website hosting? If so, please comment on the services provided, including bandwidth allowances, backups, uptime, server access, and whether the hosting server is shared with other clients. We offer the option to either be hosted on our cloud servers or have a separate server and support structure maintained at a nominal cost. What web server is required (ex: Apache, IIS)? We offer the option to choose web server to our clients. We recommend Lighttpd as it is faster. Describe your solution’s content management system (CMS). It is proprietary or a repackaged product? Can it authenticate users using an external database (ex: LDAP, RADIUS)? It is a repackaged product built on open source technologies. It supports authentication to external databases. What database does your solution utilize (ex: MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle)? We suggest MySQL. It is an open source, fast and easy to configure and use. It is the preferred choice in most widely used web sites with large user base. What scripting language(s) does your solution utilize (ex: ASP.net, PHP)? We use Dript. Dript is a scripting facility designed specifically for Drupal. Non-programmers may add formulas or behaviors to their Drupal installation without having to go down to PHP. Dript is simpler and safer. The word 'Dript' is derived from three words 'Drupal', 'Lisp' and 'script' blended together. Does your solution automatically generate Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds? Yes. Our solution does offer the provision for setting up automatic RSS feeds. Can custom applications run on the same server as the website? Yes. This is possible. Can your solution handle multiple domains, and display them as separate websites? Yes. It is possible to set up the same.

If need be the databases can be shared or set up as separate ones. Can portions of the website require SSL using a certificate from a trusted certificate authority? Yes. We can set up specific portions to use SSL while the rest of the site need not. Does your solution’s web pages render correctly and function fully on all common browsers (ex: IE6, IE7, Firefox, Opera, Safari)? Yes, and across all the different versions of the browsers. Our team takes care to ensure that the site works across popular browsers – Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari. We support versions that are encouraged by the browser vendors and one earlier version. Upon request, we can ensure support for other browsers and versions. Is the solution’s website fully functional when a viewer has disabled JavaScript and cookies in the browser? This is a choice we leave to our client. Should the client choose to ensure website functionality without JS and cookies support, we configure it accordingly. The default option available works best with JS enabled. Does your solution’s website render valid XHTML markup? Yes. Depending on theme chosen . Does your solution’s website render valid Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)? Yes. Can your solution website render pages specifically for printing and mobile devices? Yes. With minimal configuration, this is feasible. What is the size of your website research and development staff? 6. What is the size of website support staff? 30. What is the availability of your staff? Round the clock support.
