Now Let’s Hear From Our Sponsors Look around in a stadium or arena of your favorite sports team. You will see advertisements or sponsors everywhere you go. Majority of new stadiums and fields opening up across the country has names of companies in their name. From professional sports through even high school, that’s how sports make their money. The advertisement in the media relating the teams to their product also shows up to the public eye. With the amount of income coming from companies willing to put their name on the team’s jerseys, does it affect how the players perform on the field? Everywhere in a stadium there are advertisements. In NASCAR each driver has a huge logo on their hood of the car also many stickers on the side. Are sponsorships making sports a business to have an enjoyable time or just to make money? I believe that sponsorships gives sports a good reputation because it bring business to cities across the country and sports today do more with their sponsorships such as charities and fundraisers for the less fortunate. The sports industry today has an annual income of over $23 billion in the United States (Professional Sports Average Salary). The growth of sports gives the economy better standing because of the increasing revenue. With sponsored stadiums and teams across the country, businesses invest their money to advertise themselves from sports teams. MetLife was the first sponsor to claim a corner of the building of the New York Giants and Jets’ stadium, which opened in 2010. Then last August, the insurance company elected to go all in, signing a 25-year naming-rights deal, brokered by Wasserman Media Group, reportedly worth $425 million. Prior fto the christening of the facility as MetLife Stadium, the company was paying some $7 million a year for its sponsorship (Crupi). Companies are willing to spend millions to get their name out to people. The economic benefit of the sponsorships grows in the media spotlight also. In just the Super Bowl alone, $10.1 billion was spent on advertising (Ozanian). Media advertising in sports give businesses a great opportunity to promote their product/service. I feel that it’s great for companies to have sponsored stadiums. The team organization won’t need to spend more money on a stadium since a sponsor will pay part of it, and it’s advertisement for a business. The national and sometimes global exposure of the stadium will get people recognizing who sponsored them and get them interested in their company. The use of sponsorships in sports is just one aspect that could bring the economy back to its stable standard. The effects of sponsors in sports help make it possible for the industry to make charitable donations for people across the nation. In exchange for a financial donation, a corporation's name and logo are included on all mailings, advertisement and other promotional material produced by the nonprofit (Henderson). The increase visibility of a company’s name and logo leads to increased brand recognition throughout the community (Henderson). Sponsored companies that contribute to charities benefit from their good duty. How this linked into sports is that it creates a bridge between the companies and the people in need. Sport organizations such as the NBA are known for their charitable actions throughout the years. With hospitals visits to ill patients through giving kids a better education with supplies is a great example of how sponsors in sports help the community. The sports industry today is going beyond than just providing entertainment. They are becoming activists and role models to many across the nation. I believe that sponsors not only advertise themselves, but also give back to the community to show their gratitude to the nation. The humility of how sports and business come together to do good is what makes sports a great industry. The sports industry today has a big impact on the revenue of businesses invested in the sport team. Sponsoring gives large companies an opportunity to be seen by their clients, employees and stakeholders to support another brand that holds desired values and prestige. They can thus take advantage of the ‘reflected glory’ that association with a bigger and possibly more established brand can bring (Why Sponsor?). Sport gives businesses an opportunity to be known to the public and be give business to them. Some would say that sponsorships do not always give a positive value in sports. The use of sponsorships in high schools does not always give the best messages to the students. While commercialism in schools can directly harm students – marketing sodas and candy undermines nutrition curriculums, for instance – it also might discourage students from thinking critically about the brands, messages or topics sponsored in their schools (Lin). The effect of those types of sponsors is negative for high school students. Promoting unhealthy products is not ideal for a society that wants to be fit. On the other hand, the use of sponsorships has great benefits for businesses. I feel that high schools should allow sponsorships under the schools discretion. The schools can make the decision whither to have an agreement with a company and promote their product/service. The sponsorship will have no effect on the students, only increasing their funding for the athletic program.
A recent study conducted by the James Madison University Center for Sports Sponsorship concluded, “NASCAR sponsorship is the best buy in marketing.” Sponsorship in NASCAR is so appealing because sponsors see an immediate return on their investment after making the commitment to sponsor a NASCAR team or be a corporate sponsor (Kirby). Businesses who invest in NASCAR have big success in their company. Sponsorships are not all bad in sports. I feel that NASCAR has embraced the use of sponsorships in their sport. Every driver has a main sponsor on their car and smaller sponsors on stickers. Even though their car looks like someone “spammed” logos on them, they have a purpose for being there. Even though some advertisements give undesirable traits to its audience, overall the media in sports have given everyone encouraging promotions. Sponsors in the sports industry will boom in business and will never regret their investment. Sponsorships in sports bring business to cities across the country and have a positive impact on society. The investment in stadiums and the connection with charities is what makes sports and business a great pair. Sponsoring a sports team does cost lots of money but companies will not be disappointed in the increase of income from media advertisements and logos stitched in their uniforms. The economy and business world strive in the sports industry. With a large audience and supportive community, sponsors make an influence to their business and to the vision of sports overall.

...complaints about lack of efficiency and customer service. Let me begin this letter by stating it is not anyone’s fault, we unfortunately did not expect the volume of calls that we would be receiving here at the Senior Information Center. We have doubled in our volume of calls within the past year and have been granted $20,000 to improve customer satisfaction and efficiency. As of right now we do not have the means to hire more staff but I have a proposal to share with all of you today that will hopefully take the strain off your shoulders. In this letter we will be discussing the following points: Why teams are essential to health care; how teams are used in other industries, example is auto racing; how lessons from other industries might be applied in health care; and which organizational processes support problem solving. Before we begin I want to remind all of you that even though I am the manager we are all team members and I value everyone’s thought and opinions. So please do not hesitate to come and share any ideas that you may have. First topic of discussion is team members and how they are important especially within our health care facility. Everyone is aware that we are a calling service to assist mainly seniors/elders with any questions or concerns they may have. We also send individuals to whichever specific department they are in need of. I know your all thinking why are we getting an overview about our job, we all know what are job title consist of. (Several students have contacted me and they are all I’m an accountant now and I’m like um, do you mean an accountant for your high school math team? and they’re like I’m almost 30 and I’m all what exactly the heck just happened?)   Though I’ve switched to the fake job I currently have, I will never forget my classroom years, and I have a few things I want to tell you, Teachers Everywhere.   First of all, I’ve calculated your earnings by adding your classroom hours, pre- and post-school hours, conferences and phone calls, weekend work, after-hours grading, professional development requirements, lesson planning, team meetings, extracurricular clubs and teams, parent correspondence, district level seminars, and material preparation, and I believe you make approximately 19 cents an hour.   And then people say, yeah but teachers get three months off for summer, and then we all clutch our guts and die laughing because WHATEVER, MAN. ...shape who we are today and change our lives forever. I am a gymnast and have been for fifteen years, and the sport has consumed my life. I have competed for two clubs as a gymnast. At first I was competing for Parkettes and trained with top level gymnasts who have gone all the way to the Olympics. After nine years there I decided it was time for change and I needed it right away. When I arrived at 1665 E. Race St. in Allentown, Pennsylvania, I knew that Lehigh Valley Sports Academy (LVSA) was my new home. As I walked in the doors to LVSA all I saw were orange, blue, and green walls surrounded by people and future teammates ready to greet me with a friendly smile. The gym looked like an old airplane hangar that was emptied out with four, full-size spring floors, 16 balance beams, three sets of uneven bars, two bars over a foam pit, and two vaults just sitting there waiting for me to start flipping on. The gym was quiet, cold, and had that morning dew feeling to it, but as we sat there waiting to start our workout, nice and early, I met my coach, a former world champion, Natalia Yurchenko. It was an honor to be in the presence of such a great gymnast who has had so many high level skills named after her, and to know that she is my new coach. At the close to my summer in 2007, I was chosen to be a part of a team that was well known around the country, Gattaca. Our gym picked up the sponsor and we were no longer known as just LVSA we were now known as Lehigh Valley Sports...

...there may be many paths of activities from the project start to the project completion. The Critical Path is the longest containing the most time consuming activities” (p. 157). Now that we have an understanding of what the Critical Path is, let’s move on to the next question. That question is what is the Huntsville Plant’s critical path? The Huntsville Plant’s critical path is as follows. Step one is to prepare the site. This first step would include any ground preparation that may be required to accommodate a building such as the Huntsville Plant. Step two is to construct the building. This would include pouring concrete, putting up drywall, etc. The third step in the Critical Path is to install the equipment. This would include installing all technologies required for the safe operation of the facility. The fourth step in the Plant’s path is to perform a pre-production run. Now every company has their own definition of a pre-production run, so I’ll let you form your own conclusions regarding this aspect of the critical path. The next step is to perform production start up. Production start up usually means setting things in motion to begin distributing your product or service. In the case of the Huntsville Plant the production of plastic containers for the food and dairy industries. ...Special Events: Finding a Sponsor for your Event by Usha Menon These are recommended steps for finding a sponsor for your event 1. Determine who your audience is: Sending “blind” proposals usually does not work well. Knowing your audience helps you to figure out who to solicit Events that are successful in securing sponsors often (1) have a ton of people involved or (2) have a very specific focus. Sponsors like the former because they can reach a large audience in one shot. The latter works well for sponsors who are trying to reach a particular target market. Unless your non-profit has the resources to handle an event with thousands of attendees, you should explore the “specific focus” route. When you are planning your event, plan to go beyond your orghanisation. For instance, if your agency provides shelter to animals, think about hosting an event in which you can invite local veterinarians, pet store owners, zoo employees etc.. One reason to invite “professionals” is because it is lucrative from the sponsors point of view. Sponsors may not be interested in your organization, but they may be interested in getting their product into the hands of these professionals. Another advantage to inviting a new pool of people is that more people will know about your organization and possibly volunteer or donate money. Once you have established your audience, do some brainstorming. Think about which companies and local and local businesses are likely to be interested...
