Compare GBN, SR and TCP(no delayed ACK).Assume that the timeout values for all three protocols are sufficiently long such that 7 consecutive data segments and their corresponding ACKs can be received( if not lost in the channel) by the receiving host(host B) and the sending host (host A) respectively. Suppose Host A sends 7 data segments to Host B, and the 2nd segment (sent from A) is lost. In the end, all 7 segments have been correctly received by Host B. How many segments has Host A sent in total and how many ACKs has Host B sent in total? What are their sequence numbers? Answer this question for all the 3 protocols?

Host A sends 7 packets to Host B, and A receives 7 acknowledgments if all the segments are reached correctly.
Suppose the 2nd segment sent from Host A to Host B is lost, then Host B sends acknowledgments of remaining all the 6 packets received correctly.
Hence, in this protocol Host A retransmits 2nd segment alone.
Total number of segments sent from A to B = 7+ 1 =8
Acknowledgments received from B to A = 6+1=7
If segments are assumed as PKT and acknowledgment as ACK then
Sequence number of segments sent from A to B = PKT1, PKT2, PKT3, PKT4, PKT5, PKT6, PKT7, PKT2
Sequence number of acknowledgments sent from B to A = ACK1, ACK3, ACK4, ACK5, ACK6, ACK7, ACK2
