ASSIGNMENT # 03
(DATA COMMUNICATION AND NETWORKS)

ANS 1: WIRESHARK:-
As we all know well that networking and communication of computers happens worldwide in the terms of packets. Data divides into the packets like IP packets and then these packets travels over a network and then reaches its end point where packets then reassembled and the data or information is delivered to the destination. But there is a requirement of packet analyzers to analyze and captures the packet which reaches to the machine. Wireshark is the best open source packet analyzers available in market now a days. Wireshark is the best GUI based open source packet analyzer.
Wireshark provides some following features:
• It is available for windows and UNIX operating system.
• It …show more content…
• It Saves captured packets with extra information.

Wireshark is used by network managers to observe the details of traffic at a variation of levels fluctuating from connection-level data to the bits which frame a single packet. Packets analyzer may offer a network administrator with data about every individual packet like transmitting time, destination, source, header data and protocol type. This info can be beneficial for estimating security purpose events and troubleshooting the network security devices problems. Wireshark typically display info in three panels. The top panel of this list down frames separately on a single line with key data. Any of the single frame selected in the top panel will further clarified in the tool's middle panel. In this, Wireshark displays packet information and detail, explaining how numerous aspects of frame could be understood as related to a data link, network, and transport or application layer. And finally, Wireshark's lowermost pane shows the raw frame, with a hex version on the left and corresponding ASCII on the right.

...NT1310-Physical Networking Unit 1 Assignment 1: Voice VS Data 1. A cell phone is a mobile phone which can make and receive calls over a radio link. It connects to a cellular network which allows it to connect to the public telephone network. It uses both voice and data networks. 2. A landline phone is a device that has a physical connection with a telecommunication network. One big advantage landlines hold over cell phones is clear reception. Landlines offer both voice and data usage via broadband. 3. SMS stands for short message services It is the text messaging service component of mobile communication systems, phones or the web. It is the most widely used data application. It is used on data networks. 4. A Fax is the telephonic transmission of printed text and images to a telephone number connected to a device. It uses both analog and digital signals. It operates over both voice and data networks, and is a big reason why there are still landlines. 5. A Pager, also known as a Beeper, is a wireless communication device that receives numeric or text messages. It can also receive and announce voice messages. There are one way pagers which can only receive messages, and two way pagers which can send messages. The Pager uses both voice and data networks. 6. VOIP, or voice over IP is technology which enables the delivery of voice communications and multimedia sessions. Over internet protocol networks, VOIP involves signaling, channel setup, digitization of analog voice signals...

Unit 2 Assignment 1: Service Provider Types

...Brenda Deni NT1310: Physical Networking Unit 2 Assignment 1 3/30/2014 Service Provider Types * RBOCS: Regional Bell Operating Company Service * Regional Bell operating company (RBOC) is a term describing one of the U.S. regional telephone companies (or their successors) that were created as a result of the breakup of American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T, known also as the Bell System or "Ma Bell") by a U.S. Federal Court consent decree on December 31, 1983. The seven original regional Bell operating companies were Ameritech, Bell Atlantic, BellSouth, NYNEX, Pacific Bell, Southwestern Bell, and US WEST. It is important in telecommunications because RBOCs are generally in competition for digital data and Internet traffic with wireless service providers and cable TV companies. RBOCs are gradually making available new telephone carrier technologies such as ISDN and DSL. * ILEC: Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier * Is a local telephone company in the United States that was in existence at the time of the breakup of AT&T into the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs), also known as the "Baby Bells." The ILEC is the former Bell System or Independent Telephone Company responsible for providing local telephone exchange services in a specified geographic area. ILECs compete with competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC). When referring to the technical communities ILEC is often used just to mean a telephone provider. * CLEC: Competitive...

If you only have one domain controller (not recommended), there is nothing to do since all roles must be on this server, but if you have multiple servers you should move some of theese roles on to more servers. It is also important to be aware of what servers are Global Catalog servers, especially if you have more than one domain and even if only one domain, they will be prefered by applications like Exchange server. It is recommended to place the forest roles on one Domain Controller (DC) and the domain roles on another server. If not all Domain Controllers are Global Catalog servers, it is also important to place the infrastructure master on a server that is NOT a Global Catalog server. Recommended Best Practice setup of FSMO roles. Domain Controller #1 Place the two forest roles on this server. * Schema Master...
