Quarter One:
Quarter one begins with an introduction to the Marketplace. It gave me an overview of what I should expect from the queries, gave an overview of stimulation, and the scenario of marketing of a microcomputer business. I was given to manage the PC division a new line of microcomputers into four international markets. This quarter also gave me a preview of how to be successful in business and marketing by finding out what customers want and giving them that product. My first task was to decide my company name, the target segment, responsibilities and the first location I would sell my computers. First, company name was the easiest of the assignments.
For my company name, I chose Micro Computer because I wanted my product’s name to …show more content…
To make a wise choice, I analyzed the marketing research report on what customer needs and wants, functions from each segment, price analysis and overall market potential for the product. After analyzing the overall report, I decided that I want to use the segment that had the largest market size with low pricing or smaller size with high price. I preferred both Mercedes and Workhorse over Traveler because Workhorse had relatively lowest price and Mercedes the highest price. Also, both had potential market demand more than Traveler in any of the four locations. For my primary responsibility, I chose the position of President with overall leadership and the main responsibility. As a secondary responsibility I chose Vice President-Finance …show more content…

Quarter 2: Go to test market
The second quarter was where the simulation required a bit more strategy and analysis from the marketing report. In this quarter, I had to design my brand for my chosen target segment, set the pricing for it, create an advertisement for the product, and hire sales staff in Shanghai. There was also the optional action of opening a second sales office.
My task was to design a product that would appeal the targeted segment. I started by looking at customer needs and noticed that Workhorse wanted their products to be Easy to Use,
Low Price, Fast and Powerful, and has a distinct look. They also wanted their products to feature
Word Processing, Presentations, Data Management, and Bookkeeping. When designing the brand,
I chose the name MC. I chose the computer to be a laptop because at the time I wanted to try to influence the Workhorse consumers
I chose for the computer to have Office, Presentation Software and Database Software. I gave it a standard case, a high capacity hard drive because I believe that it would enhance
