Let us assume that if server & client want to share some information securely, then server & client have a public – key to encrypt the message, initially server sends public-key, then message will sent to client. Client will encrypt the message using public key. PKI uses the same process of public-key encryption to send the information securely.

Certification authority (CA) is the main factor in PKI, which provides digital certificate. Digital certificate contains user id details and public-key; this certificate can also be signed digitally using the private-key. Here public-key is shared to others while communicating to encrypt the data, but private-key is not shared to anyone. CA grants public-key with digitally signed private-key. It is very difficult to gain the details of private-key, because which is not shared by anyone. In such cases it is very difficult to hack the information available in the system.
