Chapter I Introduction Background of the Study Nude figure is mainly a tradition in Western art, and has been used to express ideals of male and female beauty and other human qualities. An art model is a model who poses for any visual artist as a part of the creative process. The common type of art works which use models are figure drawing, figure painting, sculpture and photography. The role of the art models has changed through different era as the meaning and importance of human figure in art and society has changed. More than being simply the subject of art, models are often thought of as muses, a source of inspiration without whom the art would not exist. But nowadays, modelling is not just simply posing. Other poses without their clothes on which is now called as Nude modelling. Nude modelling, nude art and nudity in general are at times disapproved by some elements of the society because some think that it is malicious, seductive and vicious. Because “Nude” simply means that it shows off the skin of the person. But for the others, nudity is appreciating the body, the figure and the beauty of what God gave us. It gives the artists a more detailed view of a naked body structure. Makes it easier for the artist to understand and master the right rendering for the human body.

The researchers found the “Nude” to be an intriguing topic because they are curious about the outcome and the effects that will occur to students who will encounter the nude models. What will be the feelings and reaction of the students who will witness a nude model for the first time? Will they enjoy a nude session? Will it be helpful for them in succeeding their profession? Or will it be a cause of their downfall?

Statement of the Problem

The study aims to analyze the effects of using nude models the Fine Art Students of Far Eastern University.
It specifically seeks to answer the following questions. 1. What is the profile of the Fine Arts students of Far Eastern University in terms of the following variables? 2.1 Gender 2.2 Year Level

2. The effects of using nude models for the fine art students.

3. How can the use of nude models affect their skills and creativity.

4. Is there a significant relationship between the nude models and it’s effects to the fine art students of FEU when grouped according to their profile. 4.1 Gender 4.2 Year Level 5. Is there a significant relationship between the nude models and its effect to the fine art students of FEU in four year levels, namely: 5.1 First Year 5.2 Second Year 5.3 Third Year 5.4 Fourth Year

Significance of the Study
The study was created with the main objective of giving the researchers and the fine art students of Far Eastern University an overview of the effects of using a nude model as a reference for their art.
The researchers anticipated that the result of this study will be a great help not only to the students, but also to the parents, professors, school administrator and even the future researchers.
Students
* The study will help the students especially the freshmen whose age is below 18 to know if they are ready for a nude session.
Parents
* Every parent should be aware of what their children are going through.
Professors
* Through this study, the professors will know if it is really needed to use a nude model
School Administrators * The study will help them to be aware of what is the perfect year for the students to take nude sessions.
Future researchers * The study can serve as a reference to one future researcher. They can get information regarding to this topic. This can also serve as an early help in pursuing their research in the future, since this research study provide them background knowledge.

Scope and Delimitation
Inclusion:
Locale
The study will be conducted within the vicinity of the Far Eastern University (Manila) Law Building where fine arts students are having their classes because they mostly stay inside the building.

Time and date The survey about ”Nude Models: Its effect to the FEU Fine Arts Student” will be conducted on February 24-28, 2014 from 7:30 – 4:30. The survey will be distributed after they finish their classes.
Respondents
The respondents in this topic will be the Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Advertising Arts in all levels. There would be 4 respondents in each year level, The total number of respondent is 16.

Exclusion
Locale
The study will not be conducted on the other parts in Far Eastern University namely: Science Building, Technology Building , Education Building, Administration Building , Arts Building, Nursing Building , Nicanor Reyes hall, Alfredo Reyes Hall, FEU Grandstand, FEU Plaza., and FEU Auditorium because there is less amount of students whose course is Bachelor of Fine Arts Major in Advertising Arts
Time and date
The survey will not be distributed when it exceeds the given time (4:30pm). The said date February 28 will be the last day of the distribution of survey questionnaires.
Respondents
The researchers have a limited survey questionnaire only to the students who are taking Fine arts major in advertising arts.

* Someone who poses for a photographer or artist.

* The structure or an outline of a thing.
Artist
* Someone who draws, paint, or just a creative person creating art.

Chapter III Methodology The researchers have chosen the survey questionnaires as the research method for their study regarding “Nude models: Its Effects to FEU Fine Arts Student S.Y. 2013 – 2014”. The questionnaires were only texts and all were printed material. The researchers handed out 16 survey questionnaires that asks about what are the effects of having a nude session to them. The questionnaires were distributed by researchers personally to the respondents for them to be guided in answering it. Research Procedures Step by step procedures done by the researchers 1. The researchers made used of survey questionnaire about the perception of FEU Fine arts advertising student regarding on the effects of nude models. 2. The researchers printed out sixteen (16) copies of survey questionnaire whose course is Fine arts major in advertising. 3. The survey Questionnaire were handed out personally to 4 students of 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year. 4. The questionnaires were all answered by the respondents in law building 5. After the survey questionnaires were all answered by the respondents, the respondents were given back the questionnaires to the researchers 6. The survey questionnaires were tallied by the researchers.

...Carol Ann Duffy's poem "Standing Female Nude" is an ambiguous dramatic monologue of an unfulfilled proletarian woman. The poem explores the fight for power between the two characters, the ‘nude’ woman and the male artist. It emphasises the issues of social and gender separation (objectification of women) in France and explores Marxist philosophies. The model prostitute tries to “make a few francs”, which suggests that is all she is worth, while the painter tries to create a piece of art to become a great, “serious” artist. ...Do you agree that Pop art is a critique of the values of post-War urban culture in the United States or is there some validity in the arguments that suggest that Pop art is another representation of profit-based propaganda? Select works from two or three artists to examine this question. Pop art was born out of the needs of Post-war America and its capitalist driven economy, where consumption was key and everything was a commodity that had to be readily available. The diversity within the movement arose from how the Pop artists approached this culture of post-war America, whether it was through parody, fetishization, or just pure replication; as well as what aspects of the culture they chose to reflect on. The sheer diversity of themes and styles covered by the various pop artists means that one cannot be too reductive when analysing this art movement. It is therefore with this in mind that this essay will examine just two Pop artists, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann, to examine both artists’ use of commercial methods teamed with images borrowed from popular culture and how they established their own unique technique and style to reflect on the capitalist culture rising in America.
