Coke and Pepsi are the 2 soda giants on the globe today. The products these companies carry are not only poor healthy choices, but also offer no nutritional value.
These companies are not concerned with how their products affect an individual’s health.
Not only do these companies promote fun and excitement to consumers, the fact of nutrition is greatly avoided.
The soda companies offer all types of incentives to consumers by; advertising to children to sell their product and by making donations to our schools. The simple fact is; the soda companies care only about profit, and not nutrition. We allow children to drink these products knowing there are no nutritional benefits, and our children suffer the consequences of our actions.

Many people around the globe have had a Coke or a Pepsi to drink. When people drink these products, they are often not aware of the poor choice they make when drinking these sodas.
We are all aware of the fact sodas like these have no nutritional value. However, parents still allow these products to be consumed by their children, often several times a day.

Children often drink way too much of these products daily. The result of children drinking these products in excess plays a huge contributing factor to the obesity of children these days, and it is obvious, no one really cares. Parents seem to turn a blind eye to these health risk factors and children will suffer from the poor choices of their parents. As a health advocate for their children, parents need to understand; they are responsible for their children’s health and no one else.

There are major risk factors for allowing children to consume theses products. When parents choose to ignore the common health concerns regarding; obesity and diabetes, which has been attributed to the consumption of these products, our children are those who suffer. The blame can be put either on the soda companies or parents. The fact is, both parties are to blame, but neither party will accept the responsibility.

How do Coke and Pepsi influence our children daily? The simple fact is, they advertise to children, they offer incentives for drinking these products, and the soda giants also make contributions to schools. Parents are conflicted on what to do about this situation; parents know money for their children school is a good thing, but the consumption of soda is not healthy for children. Children’s health is what parents are willing to sacrifice, so that schools can receive money from the soda companies, to enhance the education of their children or provide monetary assistance to the school. In the article below by Chris Woolston, M.S., you can see how schools rely on soda companies:
