One of the most curious human-caused mysteries of the past 300 years is the famous “Oak Island’s Mysterious Money Pit” condensed from the Rotarian by David Mac Donald, which has never been fully explained or fully explored. This article is about the Oak Island in Nova Scotia. In this review I have included the summary of the article, critique and the conclusion.

Off the coast of Nova Scotia of Canada, lies the little Oak Island where believed the treasure of Captain William Kidd was buried. The hunt for treasure on Oak Island has been going on for over two hundred years. In 1795, evidence of digging was first found by 3 young men. First they hit a platform of old Oak logs. At 93 feet they hit something hard-possibly a treasure chest. The next morning the shaft was found flooded with sixty feet of water. The miners dug 110 feet down. It was only 2 feet from the pit when tones of water burst through. In 1849 they recovered several links of gold chain. While the drilling was going on, someone noticed that the water in the pit was salty and rose and fell with the tide. So the men went in search of hidden inlet of the sea and they found tones of coconut fiber and eel grass on a stone floor which acts as a sponge to soak up and filter. Then they dug 118 feet down and burrowed under the money pit. But the bottom collapsed into the tunnel, dropped into an empty space. In 1893 another syndicate was organized by Frederick Blair. They were the first to locate the flood tunnel outlet. They set off dynamite to block it at the source. They reached 170 feet. After spending a lot the syndicate folded. Blair leased it to two men. They dug and drilled in 1909 to no avail. $30000 sank into the money pit from the next syndicates which made them also to quit. The son of Blair also spent $25000 which quickly turned into a small lake. So after all does the treasure exists at the bottom of the money
