When it comes to empires, power is everything. If your empire has no respect you are practically not an empire at all. With respect comes authority and every leader now this, however it is hard to achieve respect and authority. As ceaser rose in rank he knew he had to achieve something to prove himself and to prove his nation was worthy of respect. During battles he fought with his foot soldiers; it is said he knew all his centurions names, earning him respect. He then gave the land to veterans to farm giving food to rome.
